Always the same saying that the new zelda (when one it's about to come) will be the best of the saga. Twilight Princess, for me, it's better than Skyward Sword (that it's a great game), but TP has more good points (wolf, epona battles, music, Ganondorf battle, MIDNA). Skyward sword was pretty, PRETTY good, but not enought... and Fi was incredible annoying (she never shut the fuck up ¬¬).
Then what about "Just Dance" or even Skyrim for that matter... for the so called "Best Zelda Ever" it fails to impress me in every way, except the music, which was awesoome.

@TheVGGP well tbh, toon link has got SOOOO many games, not that I hate the lil guy, I do like toon link, but he has had the spotlight for far too long. he has got: four swords, minish cap, wind waker, phantom hourglass, spirit tracks, brawl, and he even left his "cell-shaded" legacy on skyward sword. its time for realistic link to return. afterall zelda is a mideval based fantasy, and I think the lord of the rings style suits it.

And the game tried to hard to be a dark Zelda game but in my opinion failed at it. The only darkness it had was its lack of colour in the game.(Majoras Mask was a dark Zelda game but it still had plenty of colour) But to be fair it was an okay game, just not a very good Zelda game(just my opinion though)

TP was designed to have a realistic atmosphere to it while the OoT series is suppose to have a cartoon feel to it. and skyward sword is like TP but with a Wind waker look. the have A LOT of TP effects in it. so IDK if you would like SS. @paxpacis2 good because there was no field or house etc. Just small maps to record gameplay for e3. Notice there is noting in the background. no mountains no trees (only i the woods. Just flat land. you would want that?

Back then, an average gamer kept up with Zelda. So many people must have been SUPER excited for TP.
But when the Wii came along, only actual Zelda fans still kept up with Zelda, which is a small percentage of gamers. Many younger gamers barely know what Zelda is, if at all. So the reactions after that weren't anywhere near this, cuz only the Zelda fans keep up and are SUPER excited.
(I should say "reaction" instead of "reactions" because the only big Zelda after TP was Skyward Sword)

Suffice to say, their biggest complaint w/the game was the cartoony graphics, attitude, and story. Zelda wasn't SUPPOSED to be cartoony...it was *supposed* to be gritty and realistic! Not necessarily dark (like the Batman cartoons)...but still much more REAL. *THIS* is what people were DYING for, esp. given the power of the then-newer consoles over the fucking *N64*!
Now, I'm not going to analyze all of people's problems w/The WindWaker...that's another discussion ENTIRELY and, I mean, hopefully, YOU ALREADY KNOW THEM. (You can't be _THAT_ young! Lol!) Now don't get me wrong, The WindWaker _was_ a good game...but it just wasn't what people were expecting...or really _wanting_!

The current Nintendo console is the GameCube (which is nearing it's end-of-life), and the last Zelda game to be released was The WindWaker, which for most people was a *MAJOR* disappointment, especially when compared to its *IMMEDIATELY previous* titles, the great "Ocarina of Time" and its still good spin-off, "Majora's Mask"...ON THE N

@MrUBtrollin2 I played the first Zelda when it got released in the 1980's and have played all of them up until now (Skyward Sword). I think what made Twilight Princess a bad experience for me was that at the same time I was also playing Okami. Okami wowed me so much that it kind of made Twilight Princess less significant in comparison.

if i were at your place, i would feel the same, even if i played every canonical zelda game (i consider non-canonical if speaking about game&watch, cd-i, cellphones or pc zeldas)
To be honest, I think that twilight princess weren't anywhere near as good as wind waker, I mean sure it had great everything, but to me wind waker is on the same level as OOT.
Whether you're a hater or not, ANY game that gets that kind of reaction for a preview demonstrates the impact the overall franchise has had on gaming. THE best series in video game.

But when the Wii came along, only actual Zelda fans still kept up with Zelda, which is a small percentage of gamers. Many younger gamers barely know what Zelda is, if at all. So the reactions after that weren't anywhere near this, cuz only the Zelda fans keep up and are SUPER excited.
(I should say "reaction" instead of "reactions" because the only big Zelda after TP was Skyward Sword)

Suffice to say, their biggest complaint w/the game was the cartoony graphics, attitude, and story. Zelda wasn't SUPPOSED to be cartoony...it was *supposed* to be gritty and realistic! Not necessarily dark (like the Batman cartoons)...but still much more REAL. *THIS* is what people were DYING for, esp. given the power of the then-newer consoles over the fucking *N64*!

@MrUBtrollin2 I played the first Zelda when it got released in the 1980's and have played all of them up until now (Skyward Sword). I think what made Twilight Princess a bad experience for me was that at the same time I was also playing Okami. Okami wowed me so much that it kind of made Twilight Princess less significant in comparison.
