I find this game pretty damn fun so far(I recently rand both Bells). That said, FromSoft should've kept the MP system from Demon's Souls instead of switching to a Spell Charge system. They didn't even have the decency to increase your charges as you level up: what a ripoff! At least I have pyromancy.
Hey i think i may be a little late but maybe that will give you time to get to that bonfire i am at. I tried going foward more but a giant skelton on 4 legs slaughtered me. I killed the spear NPC cuz he seemed trecherous. Was that a good idea?

Weight is determined by your equip load, which is increased by your endurance stat. The fastest roll is gained by being at 25% of your maximum equipment load or lower (Shown in the character status tab). Medium rolls at at 50%-25.0001+ and heavy at 90% - 50.0001%. Above that, it's impossible to roll or run.
@solace181 dude i dont say my advice on stat scaling is the best, its just my opinion. But I have tested weapons with A stats in faith, dex, strength and intelligence and have always found that those with the stat in strength are more powerful, takes less kills to kill tough enemies. Test subject is Anor Londo Sentinels, by the boss door. It should take 1-2 hits to kill them. Go test this and let me know ;)
@Retrovania Well yes strength will always kill with less hits, but dex weapons like iaito and uchi are much faster with attacking, and don't cost as much stamina to wield, leaving both time and stamina for dodging. Also they have bleed effects on them which activate pretty easily and hits for 30% of the enemies max health. Just saying that all stat weapons have advantages, and that dex certainly is very good. :P

Ghost! Gah, man.. Not to complain, but the Drake Sword? Bad. Lol Keep raising your combat skills like Strength and Dexterity. If you are mainly going to be melee, then go for those two. Dexterity a bit more for the Uchigatana's parameter bonus, though. If you plan to use Pyromancy more, instead of as a secondary/back-up attack method, then Intelligence is the way to go. @videomardyr I haven't even watched the video yet, but I seriously hope Ghost doesn't use the Drake Sword. The Uchigatana becoming weaker in comparison to a weapon that scales to 0 skills and maxes out to be a joke by late game? Not by any stretch of the imagination. No offense, but the Drake Sword is obsolete to players further in the game or veterans in general and really only a good weapon for new players getting used to the game.

@kadadj dude this game is hard enough and especially ng+ onwards, a uchigatana is just not worth it. What type of character are you going to make? Tank melee? Faith? Magic? It depends but if I were you pick a stronger weapon to use instead of a weapon with dex stats. You will face normal enemies who are tougher than the early bosses so i suggest strength scaling weapons or lightening/fire, but something stronger than than uchigatana.
@Retrovania You underestimate the power of stat scaling, and buffs like crystal magic weapon and such that can be applied to regularly enchanted items.

Your constant begging for likes does not help your cause, if anything it probably puts people off. Your most loyal fans will keep liking and those who don't won't. You have committed to this LP(as have we) so now have some integrity and continue what you started regardless of whether it gives you the amount of "Likes" you'd like or not.
@Znyrkifyable Views and likes are what gets him paid as a youtube partner. The original DS vote video has something like 3000+ likes, the last episode had 1,100 and this one has 731, so I don't really see how it's a bad thing that he asks for likes.

However this has applied for a long time, way before any views dropped and bare in mind this video is still only three days old. Another note is that there are many other Let's players who have much fewer likes and has been working much longer than a year that doesn't constantly ask for views. This is only an assumption but I would think other serie like Skyrim already net him a lot of likes anyway

if you turn right at the entrance to the forest, and go down, then go as far right as possible, there is a shield that helps you restore stamina faster. it also has good defense capabilities
but watch out for a spear knight. if you get below him on a bank, he can not hit you though. but be careful though, because this may have been patched. The grass shield will still be there anyway.
good video, but were the fatty stod there was a cat you can talk to to be in there covenent, and you will det a fog ring witch makes you harder to detect, and that covenent makes you friends with all of the guys in the woods, but still a great video and please do more

How much souls do you need? How long should you farm? As long as you can stand it. I think I farmed there until I needed 100k souls for a stat increase or something. At least I think, It's been a while since I last played.
No, the Drake Sword does not scale with any stats. That's why it is so good for low level characters. At this point the Uchigatana is close to being as strong so Ghost ought to start thinking about which stats he wants to boost so he can specialize in weapon types. I went with Strength the first time through because Dexterity is underwhelming compared to Demon's Souls, and requires more stamina usage for comparable damage to most good Strength weapons.
Ghost you should really patch dark souls to the newest build. For starters enemies drop more souls and are general a bit less difficult. Also weapon scaling has been buffed by a considerable amount on many types. Work on maxing your endurance at lvl 40. Also all stats start to hit severe diminishing returns once you hit lvl40 in each respective stat. But if you are serious about playing this game you owe it to yourself to check out darksouls wiki and just read up on stuff you are unsure of.
@Austendude2 Best thing to do Is to give yourself a Divine weapon then you will kill them also for the first Skelatons theres a sorcerer kill him and they all die.
@bjofo461 Yeah your right, I finaly got the drakesword and now see that it doesnt really scale off anything... you just get the sword and it does 200 damage and thats it.
Hey ghost, if you press, i think it's y on xbox, while you're equipping stuff, you can see your EQUIP BURDEN. If you keep it under 50%, you will not roll slow. This way you do not have to second guess yourself when equipping. :)
Once you level up past 50 you will see less co-op play so level up your weapons first then armour. Also the paladin armour set when upgraded is better than most and even better than the stone set but doesnt hinder mobility, also has highest curse resistance.
@Kadadj basicall it goes like this, S, A, B, C, D, E with S being the highest. It means your weapon strength scales(increases) with the stat you level your character with. So if a weapon has an A next to strength; each time you level up ur strength the weapon power will increase. This is good to custom build a character around a weapon, e.g. I have a faith character and I use weapons which have an A scaling next to faith.
@Retrovania Thanks for the response! I've heard a lot about the scaling system being broken, or poor though. I'm mainly going to be using the Uchigitana, is it worth leveling my dexterity past the 14 required? I will enchant it 5+ lightning as soon as i can.
@xaviiiiv I believe that that is miracle resonance... if I am right, then that is an online function where if another character casts a miracle in that spot, then that ring will show up in other worlds, and if a cleric stands on that circle, and casts a miracle of his own, its power will be increased.
@Kadadj Theres also an S but depending on what letter is matched up with which parameter (if any) it determines how much of a boost you'll get from having more points in that parameter.The 4 stats they're generally around is strength, dexterity, intelligence, and faith so if you have a weapon with an S in a stat you're particulary high in it will give you a bigger bonus than it would if it was an A or lower. So all in all just have good stats in those fields to get the best out of your weapon.
In the next video, fight the forest guys head to head, one-on-one! If it's too hard (probably is), then just keep farming or go take on Sif. You could also talk to Alvina and join the Forest Hunter covenant.
farm off camera here to level up.attune more fire magic so you can beat the boss sif that is in the end of this forest.i recomend you join altina the cat covenant that is in the tower in the meedle of the forest and kill the guy who appears outside.it has a cool ring that modifies your roll.be carefull because a invisibl assassin apears to assist him.there is a chest with a good armour near the tower and a amber in a chest were the moshroom-men are, just lure them out of there

ghost, at the place where all those trees started attacking you is a new armor set. its pretty decent and isnt TOO heavy. your wanderer gear isnt gonna cut it any more, so i recommend to get the armor and upgrade it. also upgrade your drake sword if you can! at your current status, you will get OWNED by the boss in the forest.
It's great that you've finally found this place, Ghost! but please, if you're planning on farming a lot, do it off cam, cuz it is boring enough to do the farming by yourself, and watching someone else do it is even worse
Don't become too reliant on the Drake Sword. While it may seem powerful early on, it's difficult to upgrade and doesn't scale very well so it's less useful at higher levels
You're forgetting that he's doing these videos to make money, if he followed your advice yes it would be over quicker but he'd also be dividing the amount of revenue he receives for the series by four, which lets face it, he's not going to do...
Me personally, I stopped farming that place when I reached lvl 55 because at this point it'd take three rounds of going back and forth and killing these guys to lvl once but u can do it as long as u like :)
As others have already said, you should do the majority of the farming off camera. Check out some vids for the farming, you can bank like 7,000 souls every 2 or 3 mins. You rock!
Hey Ghost what determines how fast you move is the equipment load. When you open your equipment menu press y and you should see something called equipment load at the top right. If you want to move fast you have to calculate the amount of weight to about 25 percent. At that percent you move really fast at 50 percent you move pretty well but when you go over that you move pretty slow. To increase the equipment load you need to level up your endurance.
Cant get your vid to work but i agree with the others, should always do your farming off camera. You should watch gamefront's videos just to see how they edit their dark souls walkthrough vidz. You should film every run of an area but only upload the succesful run otherwise your wasting time. You have almost 70 hours left at your rate.
Ghost you missed some guys in there and some of them drop really good stuff go all the way through the forest you should get bout 20000 souls or more per run

Just think how scary it would have been to you ghost if the fog ring wasn't nerfed. You wouldn't have been ablwe to lock on to the ghostly people at all a month or 2 ago.
@DarkSalvation22 after you kill the hydra in the dark root basin go to the left and right around the corner of the water fall there is a ladder, go up, cross the bridge and then there is another ladder that will bring you up right where he ran in to all the tree people, but caution if you cross the second bridge there a mega rat demon
You should get your vitality and endurance to at LEAST 20 each. As for levels, 34-40 is about normal for Sens fortress so if you can grind forest people up to that range you will be good to go. Also use your balder shield, it has much better stability than your current shield.
First time I came into the area you're farming, I came from the other driection, through the Basin (I want to see your reaction down there) and kept getting my ass handed to me by pulling more than 1 tree at a time.
I can imagine how many viewers screamed at the screen when you went through the door rather than hitting the bonfire first...nice to hear you found it. However, the trick to farming is run around the left-side in a bit of a circle to pull 4 of the D&D guys and then lead them off.

if you turn right at the entrance to the forest, and go down, then go as far right as possible, there is a shield that helps you restore stamina faster. it also has good defense capabilities
but watch out for a spear knight. if you get below him on a bank, he can not hit you though. but be careful though, because this may have been patched. The grass shield will still be there anyway.

How much souls do you need? How long should you farm? As long as you can stand it. I think I farmed there until I needed 100k souls for a stat increase or something. At least I think, It's been a while since I last played.

No, the Drake Sword does not scale with any stats. That's why it is so good for low level characters. At this point the Uchigatana is close to being as strong so Ghost ought to start thinking about which stats he wants to boost so he can specialize in weapon types. I went with Strength the first time through because Dexterity is underwhelming compared to Demon's Souls, and requires more stamina usage for comparable damage to most good Strength weapons.

Ghost you should really patch dark souls to the newest build. For starters enemies drop more souls and are general a bit less difficult. Also weapon scaling has been buffed by a considerable amount on many types. Work on maxing your endurance at lvl 40. Also all stats start to hit severe diminishing returns once you hit lvl40 in each respective stat. But if you are serious about playing this game you owe it to yourself to check out darksouls wiki and just read up on stuff you are unsure of.

Hey ghost, if you press, i think it's y on xbox, while you're equipping stuff, you can see your EQUIP BURDEN. If you keep it under 50%, you will not roll slow. This way you do not have to second guess yourself when equipping. :)

Once you level up past 50 you will see less co-op play so level up your weapons first then armour. Also the paladin armour set when upgraded is better than most and even better than the stone set but doesnt hinder mobility, also has highest curse resistance.

@Kadadj basicall it goes like this, S, A, B, C, D, E with S being the highest. It means your weapon strength scales(increases) with the stat you level your character with. So if a weapon has an A next to strength; each time you level up ur strength the weapon power will increase. This is good to custom build a character around a weapon, e.g. I have a faith character and I use weapons which have an A scaling next to faith.

@xaviiiiv I believe that that is miracle resonance... if I am right, then that is an online function where if another character casts a miracle in that spot, then that ring will show up in other worlds, and if a cleric stands on that circle, and casts a miracle of his own, its power will be increased.

What does it do exactly, how does it affect the combat?

@Kadadj Theres also an S but depending on what letter is matched up with which parameter (if any) it determines how much of a boost you'll get from having more points in that parameter.The 4 stats they're generally around is strength, dexterity, intelligence, and faith so if you have a weapon with an S in a stat you're particulary high in it will give you a bigger bonus than it would if it was an A or lower. So all in all just have good stats in those fields to get the best out of your weapon.

farm off camera here to level up.attune more fire magic so you can beat the boss sif that is in the end of this forest.i recomend you join altina the cat covenant that is in the tower in the meedle of the forest and kill the guy who appears outside.it has a cool ring that modifies your roll.be carefull because a invisibl assassin apears to assist him.there is a chest with a good armour near the tower and a amber in a chest were the moshroom-men are, just lure them out of there

ghost, at the place where all those trees started attacking you is a new armor set. its pretty decent and isnt TOO heavy. your wanderer gear isnt gonna cut it any more, so i recommend to get the armor and upgrade it. also upgrade your drake sword if you can! at your current status, you will get OWNED by the boss in the forest.

Don't become too reliant on the Drake Sword. While it may seem powerful early on, it's difficult to upgrade and doesn't scale very well so it's less useful at higher levels

Instead of doing so many parts of Dark Souls why not just do an hour worth each time?
All you need to do is play 3 hours of it a week.
Not much progress happens in this game in 15 minutes.
I'm already up to 60 hours worth of gameplay and have only just beat Ornstein and Smough.
Make it better, so we get more content.
Because if you're making 3 episodes a week, that's just 45 minutes of Dark Souls.
This walkthrough will be 100's of episodes.

As others have already said, you should do the majority of the farming off camera. Check out some vids for the farming, you can bank like 7,000 souls every 2 or 3 mins. You rock!

Hey Ghost what determines how fast you move is the equipment load. When you open your equipment menu press y and you should see something called equipment load at the top right. If you want to move fast you have to calculate the amount of weight to about 25 percent. At that percent you move really fast at 50 percent you move pretty well but when you go over that you move pretty slow. To increase the equipment load you need to level up your endurance.

Cant get your vid to work but i agree with the others, should always do your farming off camera. You should watch gamefront's videos just to see how they edit their dark souls walkthrough vidz. You should film every run of an area but only upload the succesful run otherwise your wasting time. You have almost 70 hours left at your rate.

@DarkSalvation22 after you kill the hydra in the dark root basin go to the left and right around the corner of the water fall there is a ladder, go up, cross the bridge and then there is another ladder that will bring you up right where he ran in to all the tree people, but caution if you cross the second bridge there a mega rat demon

You should get your vitality and endurance to at LEAST 20 each. As for levels, 34-40 is about normal for Sens fortress so if you can grind forest people up to that range you will be good to go. Also use your balder shield, it has much better stability than your current shield.

First time I came into the area you're farming, I came from the other driection, through the Basin (I want to see your reaction down there) and kept getting my ass handed to me by pulling more than 1 tree at a time.
I can imagine how many viewers screamed at the screen when you went through the door rather than hitting the bonfire first...nice to hear you found it. However, the trick to farming is run around the left-side in a bit of a circle to pull 4 of the D&D guys and then lead them off.
