i have an old swhinn bike that my dad bought me (i wanted a classic bike because its my style) we found one. ahh yes there it was ^^ and it was an oldie too! not that rip off walmart crap! it was 30 bucks it took alittle time to paint and to restore but it looked grate! and suprisingly fast to!it still beats all the other kids on the block!Who says old things are slow? not this guy!

Amazing bikes,,, im 15 and i love them,,, just got my dads old 57. he says it was amazing but his brothers and their sons tore them up so i have to fix it up,,, its still amazint to thing about thought,, its over 50 years old and a new generation and yet kids still love the old days,,, i wish i was born in the 50's

Love these bikes... I have a 1970 Schwinn Sting Ray Krates replica :( I wanna get the real thing! my favorite bike though is my 1930's-1940's Rollfast :D

only the rich kids had schwins where I lived as a kid. the rest of us had kmart or western auto stingray knockoffs. Parents had no problem saying "no" back in the late 60s / early 70s.

A real stingray made you instantly cool.

Damn..had one of these when I was 14. Both my tires were same size and white walled. Had the 6ft tall sissy bar on it. Had black cloth tape on the handle bars and pushed the bars forward slightly. Then stretched aluminum foil through the spokes. Lightening auto drag flaps on the rear of the frame and finally a car antennae. Man I had to fight a lot to keep that bike from being stolen. I couldn't take it out of the house sometimes.

I am just in AWE at this collection. Amazing! This coming fall I may be making a trip Chicago to experience the neighborhood my parents grew up in. If I go I am definitely making a stop at this shop in Sycamore. Great job Blue Moon Bikes! Reminds me of when I was twelve years old, walking the rows of brand new Krates and Stingrays at the local Schwinn shop, which to this day is still in business under the same name - Wheel Away, San Jose, California.

Wow. I never thought Illinois had anything to offer, but now I have to go there. I remember Captain Kangaroo ( 1:00 ) pushed Schwinn Bikes and later Stingrays on his show. The stingray and especially the Krates, were the best bikes ever made in the world. Oh Sorry Day for you if you never got to ride one.

I grew up in Elk Grove and my brother and i had schwinns . Stingray , mini scrambler , World , World female (for mom) , LeTour Lux . All bought from the schwinn that was at the corner of Devon and Arlington Heights Rd. in Elk Grove . Thanks for posting and i will definitely try to stop by your shop :)

I had an Orange Krate when I was 11y/o, bought it and had it close to 4 hours...  I let my friend ride it around the block, back home in Chicago, and he came back crying and a swollen black eye??? He got Bike Jacked!!! He wasn't the only one crying, my brand new Orange Krate was gone, Wahh!!! I am 43y/o now and ever since I've always wanted another one... July 3, 2009 I bought a LH 11/72 Lemon Peeler, Today is 7/16/09, I powdered coated the frame and restored every thing else... Its DONE
