You guys can't compare this to the actual production...it's not meant to sound the same, It's two different ball parks. Considering what they were going after, I'd say this is really well done. Would I want them in a showing of Les Mis? Hell no. In Glee? They're good.

Terrible - like two shrieking witches, and it gets worse the longer it goes on. The little lady from Scotland with sensible shoes ,sure beats these two vastly over -rated singers hands down

OK, it's not as bad as I said, but they do get a bit carried away at the end. You can overdoe sentiment you know - and they do. Respect for defending them. I do it for Susan all the time - and boy do I get 'flack' Kindest regards!

._. I'm probably going to get attacked for this but... This girl isn't living a 'Hell'... she's perfectly fine. She has a roof over her head and food on her plate. Her dreams aren't killed, she has her pride, and she's living comfortably. Her life isn't so terrible. Her singing this sounds empty and more like whining than anything. It doesn't help that she's trying to sound like a popstar while singing this....

Glee, and to an extent, all shows and theater, is about drama. Glee especially is about finding the songs that fit certain situations. The distinction you have to make is that Idina and Lea Michelle's characters are using this song to channel thier emotions, not applying each word and line literally to their lives.

Shelby (Idina) is singing to her daughter, about regretting not having all those years with her, and hoping, however futilely, that she'll come back to her.
