Lol just read a few comments ...i really wish i had all that machinery and space in my shop ..I think most of the comments come from envious people , ....who cares what technique he is using , all that really matters is that he is hiring labor ( americans ) not chinese to do the work
I think that every serious cabinet maker that as seen this video can't believe how inefficient , slow ,unsafe , unskilled these guys are. Man that shop is noisy. And i tough my shop was bad , but I would loose patience if I was their boss. I don't know if these guy are still opened.
my cabinet building technique , builds a stronger cabinet in half the time with no clamp machine and only one person and protective skids are also nailed under to protect cabinet base from chipping . If I built cabinets that slow , I would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. Those 2 clowns are super slow.
Like seanstogner73 already said. Don't knock what this guy's building because it's designed to compete with similar products, NOT custom cabinets. It has it's place in the market & it's made in America. I am guessing he doesn't hire ILLEGALS. Considering what it is, it looks like it's well made overall. Someone asked why use water with the dowels. The water activates the glue & swells the dowels & the dowel holes to make a very secure joint (not my preference but they are NOT custom). America !!
Damn guys. Dont kick a guy for trying to make an American product. This is a production shop not a custom shop...
I agree he could be making the cabinets out of oak plywood, but not everyone can afford it. This guy appears to be providing a good product that will compete with china / mexican product and he is using american labor.
I bet 50% of the homes in America have cabinets made with similar China made cabinets. I say hats off to the guy..
@videosdelaschiquis The fibreboard swells from the water that's trapped in the hole and captures the dowel permanently under compression, no need for glue this way
And we wonder why America is going down the crapper. Invest millions of dollars in this equipment so you dont have to pay as many people. I guess it works out in the long run for the owner, but its a shame the cabinetry art has been reduced too this. I like that squaring clamp. Thats it though and pb is junk, watch what happens when its exposed to moisture and the bottom of the sink cabinet collapses.
A perfect example of products designed for manufacturing, not durability. If you find a fast way to make them out of cardboard and saliva, will you do that as well? You won't see me in your customer line up.
Looks like a product you buy at wal-mart.the 2 guy's that are putting it together look like they don't know what they are doing.I would not buy anything that was made at this company.( what ever happened to using glue)
@jdeshazo1 No joke. I own a small cabinet business and I've never seen anything made so cheap. They must supply to a third world country that can't afford a real cabinet.
Not efficient at all, get a height adjustable table so you don't need another guy to stand on the table and line stuff up. Build three of four at a time than put it in the clamp. 20 min for that water to dry?? It only takes like 5 for the glue i use. You can't build 60 boxes in 8 hours the way these guys do it.
Crp particle board with water to hold the dowels? Efficient production, but not desirable products. I'll stick with shop built plywood with glue no matter how inefficient it is.
Too many parts. My preference is a separate plywood kick as long as your run of cabinets. Install and level that on site and then just drop your cabinets on top. 4" kick. 31" high cabinets. Fast easy, good use of materials Also you can use a single back on the cabinet, the same material as as the sides. It's fast because it comes off the same run on the CNC. No need for handling different materials. Slot cut the cabinet 3/8". Rebate the cabinet back 3/8". No hot glue needed. Try that.
Not very efficient at all, takes 10mins & 2 worker to assemble just 1 base cabinet. A couple of hits with the mallet is enough its going in a clamp. Why so much glue, u sure your making money. Almost every Cabinet Manufacturing shop has that setup nothing special too slow. I wounder how long it takes your guys to make 1 lazy susan.

@videosdelaschiquis The dowels are pre-glued. Just need a little bit of water to activate the glue. Cheers!
