  • still i like it,

  • tarzan boy, you spin me right round, love and pride, new religion - amazing songs, all of them.

  • great just been watching this on channel 5 uk

  • @fanofheadroom1 My god! So was I! xD

  • @fanofheadroom1 previously shown on the ukg 15 years ago.

  • as fresh as it was 25 years ago

  • Oh man I miss TOTP in the '80s. That used to be the highlight of Xmas Day :)

  • 1985 what a year for him

  • @credoneivaldesi

    é la Summer Mix ;)

  • This was the year I was born lol

  • goodnight jimmy, you are no longer with us to know we are still watching you,but we ARE......

  • Nice jumper on the stone-faced guy @ 2:32 !

  • School Disco is back :)

  • Can anybody tell me what the singer is wearing..? It's very '80s. Is it some sort of track suit or something or was there a particular name for it?

  • best version ever.

  • ah the best !! 80s forever! we still have this original Christmas TOTP on videotape, recorded by my dad way back in 1985!! (i was very young back then) 80's Top Of The Pops is the best!! severely miss those times, wish i could go back!!

  • @LeeeeeeeB yes me too mate

    it was great back then

  • choooooooooooooooooooooon

  • love the 80s !!

  • dude this song fucking owns lady gaga and taylor swift cant hold a candle to baltimora. fuck all todays bullshit i loved both cds. and fuck all jimmy haters they can burn in hell.

  • Jimmy Mc Shane is his name sadly he would die 10 years later due to Aids Complications. What a legacy to leave behind, Gone but not forgotten.

  • oh my gosh . i listen this song when i 7 grade high school ... wish they can released all versions dvds and cds

  • guilty pleasure

  • balitmora needs to be reborn all their songs destroy everything they have now a days.

  • only one problem, Baltimora is dead.

  • The front man is dead. The guy who actually sings the song is alive but it would be weird to start them up again with a different front man. Plus the lip singing wouldn't really work as well these days.

  • dude died mate - aids related after an op i think.

  • @NFLFiles He's dead

  • @jackwilshiresfakeid The ironic thing is the performer was a lip-syncher. The actual singer of Baltimora' songs was its producer.

  • @RocStarr913 So embarassed he got someone else to front it

  • @jackwilshiresfakeid I'd have done it for him. Italo-Euro-Disco-Pop-Hybrid rules.

  • 1985 the year I started work! Great clip thanks for posting, after 85 the music went down hill in my opinion please post some more from this show if you can. Thanks Brian.

  • best years ever. people were cheerful, enjoyable, relaxed and enjoyed every minute of their life. it's not like that anymore...

  • Yes anyone who missed the 80's missed out on a wonderful era. Today we have better technology but the world is a worse place. Back then there were no concerns about terrorism, the enviroment or the economy. And the 80's gave us a mix of great music with originality better than the manufactured image driven crap of today.

  • this song is mint, i love it.

  • the beat of the song is so ROCKIN'!!!

  • Nassa senhara. Q saudade. Anyway, nobody can really tell if it was the producer, whose name I don't recall, who sang the song or if it was really him, Jim McShane, who did it. Hard to tell, but that's quite understandable, since we're talking about Italo Disco, a mystery itself. Don't go there believing this one or that one was the singer, nobody knows.

  • Saudades...esse cara deixa saudades!!!

  • Nice to see that Burk from TOTP2 Steve Wright presenting here.

  • 1984 1985 and 1986 was the best year of 80s music

  • The best era of Top Of The Pops 1980-1986!

  • completely true!

  • Damn they're good live

  • I've got most TOTP from 1983 - 1990ish (and probably 1986 Xmas) but it is currently still on VHS.

  • wat a great song

  • Great song =] r.i.p =[

  • great classic r.i.p in pace ..

  • I never get tired of listening to this song it is hip. All songs should have this kind of beat. No doubt about it.

  • One hit wonder.

  • HOT BEAT!

    RIP

  • Muito bom esse video, eu naum vivi essa época mas posso imaginar q ela foi de ouro...

  • Makes me sad watching it - RIP.

  • Loved the song..and played it to death at disco's...I used to dj alot...still a classic. RIP

  • good times and great music :-)

  • i was lonely ten when this came out but i remember loving it and still do loll

  • God, this song is incredible. Although he didn't sing anything, Jimmy McShane was one hell of a performer. RIP Jimmy.

  • What do u mean he didn't sing anything???

  • Jimmy McShane was used as a model / frontman, but it was in fact the composer Maurizio Bassi who did the vocals to Tarzan Boy... though Jimmy did sang on that chorus along with several others.

  • REALLY??? I never knew that. What a stupid waste of time that song I loved really is then. I loved Milli Vanilli & Black Box too until I found out the same thing. You´d think if they was going to pick frontmen that couldn´t really sing, they´d pick somebody stunningly gorgeous but in all 3 cases, they were plain people that you´d see pass you on the street everyday.

  • Hehe... it's not that bad. I think the accent on the vocals makes this song catchier. If Jimmy (as a native speaker) had sang this, it would've sounded "too clean". These vocals suit this song much better and are one of the factors why this is probably one of the greatest pop songs ever written. It's an underestimated skill to make songs (nearly) everyone likes.

  • I do love it, I was 7 when it came out and my Mum and Dad used to take us all out every Sunday, sometimes to Blackpool and it always used 2 be playing in Jungle Jims in the Tower Building. How appropriate. x

  • Is my imagination? or this sound is Slimer from Ghostbusters? :D

  • These Folks are Awsome, truly loveable, just cant have enough of Baltimore.

  • this song still gives me goosebumps. makes me wanna paaarrrrty!

  • this version of the song is the best. nice =)

  • das war noch Musik!

  • like his baby brother

    great music

  • he looks like david bowie's brother.

  • EXCELLENT! MIMED (but everything on TOTP was)! Nice!

  • Except for a few choice New Order performances. :)

  • Alright!! Hell yeah!! I tried downloading this one and it never fully downloaded. Thanks for posting this. I love you Jim!!
