  • You have the ritm in the blood dude! Yea. dnb

  • whoa is good dnb

  • I love this video! Sounds great. May I get your approval to use you video on my soon to be launched websit as an example of a drum'n' bass solo. Thank you for your review of my request.Sincerely, Cheryl Williams, San Antonio, tx.

  • BOH!!!

  • Cool

  • when i play my hi-hats they sound really monotone.. how can i make them sound groovy??

  • u cant even hear the other guys but drum and bass still beats rocks ass man

  • The beat is really similar to Jimi Hendrix - Fire

  • This is a really weird tempo for either funk or dnb

  • stop laying into him Crusada54 he is the raddest cunt on the block, love your work :)

  • if we could hear the rest of the music maybe you wouldn't sound like you playing the same thing over and over.

  • sounds like your snare wires are broken or missing

  • haha clearly soeone who knows nothing! its called "sweet" its a good sound :)

  • woh man thats nice!

how do get your snare to sound that sweet??!!!

  • tighten the heads all the way up, top and bottom! :)

  • you get a good snare

  • nice!

  • by the way i like your rolls

  • do you know what funk is?

  • boring no technical structure and repetative

  • funky? i think not sounds like high school drumming

  • A massive wanker? Only on thursday and on monday; all the other days i just pray and play drum in a dark empty room.

  • the drummer is layne staley, defenitly. He plays like me, therefore I like it. I play more ghost notes usually, but I guess it depends on the song you're playing. Good sound anyway.

  • you sound like a massive wanker

  • this doesn't sound like funky drumming...

  • its mixed with rock

  • IM LOVING the sound of the snare drum

  • the guy on drums is a genius

  • LAYNE STALEY?!

  • great performances

  • great vid i play alot of similar stuff

    nice one!

  • omfg!!!! that was insane!!! hahaaaaaaaaaaa XD XD XD Oooh wow, im pretty gob-smacked, that was funky as HELL!!!!

  • nice man

  • this reminds me so much of my drumming, weird :O

  • its not weird to be average

  • The sound, not the technique. I learned perfect technique before I was ever allowed to play on a kit. ha.

  • are you trying to be funny? or are u just saying that ur drums sound like his?, mr. humble.

  • no, lol. It's similar to what I used to play a lot, not because how he plays it, but what he's playing.

  • i liked it man, sounded sick

  • Wish you would have switched up the beat a little, but all the same a real nice job very clean awesome set too

  • Dude they are recording a song

  • there's nothing quite like watching a good drummer at work.

  • It is funny to watch your guitarist and bassist jamming with you - without hearing them. Except in the break I can your bass player doing some cool stuff.

    Funk on!

  • What kind of set is that, it sounds prty nice

  • thanks, it's a Pearl Session Custom set with Sabian cymbols :)

  • i have to say something what some others were hinting at.

    it is just drum's.

for me it sounds to perfect, like drum and base from a machine, you know that vid by aphex twin? with the "drum-human"?

your druming is very precise - a compliment and a critic.

  • it's just drums becuase I filmed the video for myself for my own progress, I later decided to throw the video on youtube, so the segregation of drums and the other instruments was not on purpose.

I find it hardly precise in any way, you might be thinking that just because of the style of music that I'm playing...

  • this is a whole new level of being quiet in a library.

  • HAHAHAHA very true!!

  • this is soup drumming

  • like tomato soup or clam chowder?

  • My Head Phone is the same as yours!

    nice drumming!

  • Thank you!

  • thats awesome.. but i dont know much about funk drumming. wouldn't it be nicer with more tom toms?

  • funk drumming ( or any other genre) has nothing to do with how much toms you have its how you groove and where to put accents an that kind a stuff

  • agreed

  • i dont think funk emphasizes a lot of tom tom use, but I shouldn't have said that this is a funk beat, there are funk sections and primarily a rock beat, my bad

  • good job dude...nice tight drumming..

  • Thank you!!!

  • Thats Midnight Blue Jackson Dinky.. Just like MINE!!

  • yup, it's a Jackson, great guitar!

  • Ignore those negative critics. You have some nice tight drumming going on there.Very punchy and tight man.

  • Thanks for the kind words!! I know it sounds a little rusty, but I'm not claiming to be a pro drummer, it's just a hobby of mine

  • i wish i could hear the bass and guitar. not amazing drumming i think. srry

  • I just watched your "Anti Theory Jam" video, now that stuff is pretty un-amazing, are you the drummer in that video?

  • this drumming probably sounds better with the music, for drumming by itself its not so interesting but with music im sure its great. my vids are from a while ago and that band formed 4 days befoe that show. i had only practiced those songs 2 times. ill post newer vids of just drumming.

  • just boring , not that awesome...

  • you're boring and not awesome like me

  • If you could only imagine how hard it was for the people in that library to read that day :)

They kept telling us to "SSHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

    Thanks for the kind words!

  • awesome!!

the concept of playing drums on a library is really bold =P it must be very fulfilling

  • Thanks, we were just fortunate enough to be able to practice in that library.

  • That's f***ng awesome! Great job!

  • Thank you very f***ing much!

  • dude i have been playing 3 years and ur like miles better than me how long have u been playing

  • I'm not that great, but thanks for the compliment!!!

I have been playing drums since I was about seven years old and I am 26 years old now.

  • yo sweet playing man nice job

  • Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words!

  • how long have u been playing?

  • I have been playing drums since I was about seven years old and I am 26 years old now.

    How about you?

  • iv been playing for about 6 years now. keep up the great work.

  • Hell yeah!

  • good stuff.....nice singlet bandana tracksuit combo there.

  • Thanks! I gotta keep it gangsta!

  • respect.

  • me parece o es en una biblioteca????

  • yes, at the time, we were practicing in a library :)

  • grat job...

    respect..

  • Thank you!

  • nice style.

what kit is it by the way? also cs the tomes sound great.

  • Thank you!!!

This is a Pearl Session Custom that I am playing.

  • HEY! Awesome!:D Just by listening to the drumtrack i noticed that you play very similar music to what me and my band plays. I think you have come longer in your music carrier though:) Please post some song with other instrument to:D Great vid:)

  • Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words!

Good luck to you and your band!

  • paradox? as in seba and paradox? man, i really wanna hear the full track. that break is all over the place. just the way i like it :) HEAVYYY!!!!!!

  • Very nice! Do you have a hole track with other instruments? It's pretty interesting

  • We do have a recording of this track with other instruments. That is what is going on in this video, we were recording the songs straight into a digital input, that's why you can only hear the drums and not the guitar and bass. Thanks for showing interest in our song!

  • Hey man, great job!

    mad props

but what kind of ride is that..love the tone.

  • Thanks for the kind words!

It's a Sabian Paragon Ride Cymbol.

  • nice ok man very tight love the dnb shit!! very nice

  • thank you very much!

  • the other two dig it cuz its TIGHT! good work!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Damn man good job! how long have you been playing and what kind of drums are those?

  • I'm 26 years old and I started playing when I was about 6 years old, but I play on and off, so I havnt been playing twenty years consistantly.

The drums you see in this video are Pearl Session Custom Drums.

I'm glad you like, thanks for the kind words!

  • That was pretty sweet dude, you've got some skill :) keep it going

  • Thank you very much for the kind words!

  • Be better if I heard the bass too.

Awesome drumming. I'm going to play some bass too it.

  • I wish I could play the bass and guitar audio along with this video but I cant do that, if you play along to my video, please send me a copy, I would love to hear it!!!!!!!!!

  • i agree a bit with Abstract4rt, but i also agree with jamo2006, dude your gd, keep it up, but even if it is just a hobby try and play new fills and play about with new ideas. i.e. experiment! - whats the worst that could happen?

anyway, congrats, your definetly one of the most solid non-pro drummers ive seen on youtube...gd luck with w/e your doing drum-wise : P

  • Thank you very much, you must realize that these videos are back from 2002-2006, since this video, I play much differently and do plenty of experimenting. Thanks for the kind words!

  • good job man :) .....I'm a "non professional" too.....the internet sucks for all the balls it gives cowards. And random douches from "Sweden" who don't put themselves out there with drumming videos of their own. That's you abstract4rt. Miserable twat.

  • I agree, when I post videos of myself playing drums, I'm not trying to say that I am a good drummer, I just want to share my hobby with who ever may be interested in the same thing.

At the same time, I knew there were going to be people out there that will want to tell me I suck, so I am open to their comments as well since I am not a pro drummer.

Thanks for the kind words jamo2006!!

  • I think you play too hard and use too many boring fills, but other than that t'was pretty good!

  • Well drumming is just a hobby of mine and I am not a professional player, so I think I can get by with my boring fills for what I do :)

  • Your so right. I wish people would quit saying stuff like "YOU SUCK, GIVE IT UP" I hate that, a bit of help would be a bit nicer, you know?

  • Exactly!

  • that was some tight stuff, what kind of kit is that. looks like a 6, or 7 if you count the second snare, maybe pearl, or what, it's tight. i have a remo 6 piece custom jazz, amazing.

  • thank you very much!

This is a 5 piece Pearl Session Custom kit and I added a Remo Roto Tom and a small popcorn snare that my body is somewhat covering.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

  • Nice drumming man. I liked it. Love the snare sound too, nice and dry :)

  • Thanks for the kind words! The snare is a pork pie :)

  • ahh man cant go wrong with a porkpie

  • Ah yes! porkpie is good with a nice Draught beer!!! Oh wait your talking drums! My bad! Cheers dudes!

  • hey man sick drumming, how many mics do you use? cuz i only see one at the top and im wondering if that mic is so awsome that it can pick everything up

  • I think there were about 5 mics used on the drums for this recording session.

Although, the sound you are hearing in this video was all picked up from my camcorder, not the drum mics.

  • awesome drumming

  • Thank you very much!

  • respect mate :)

  • Thanks mate!

  • Awesome drumming! Really liked it

  • Thanks!

  • What cymbals are you using in this vid??

  • Sabians, HHX highhats, Neil Pert Paragon ride, HHX 17" crash, AAX splash (i think), and a AAX 18" crash (i think)

  • sounds sick. do you have a myspace or something to hear the recording wit guitar and bass?

  • thats so cool.. are you in a library!! fuck yeah dont worry about being quiet hahah

  • Yeah, we used to practice in a Hebrew Temple library that our guitarist's father is the rabbi of.

The librarian kept telling us to use our library voices, so we cranked it up cuz we don't use library voices round here!

  • i like the drumming but its white(not really funky)

    But I still like it!

  • it's white?

hmmm...that could be taken wrong, but I'm down with it :)

  • nice style, simialr to mine, byt you have better technique

  • Thank you very much!

  • Excellent drumming

  • Thank you very much!

  • i love the beat. and i noticed you used rock beats as well.. again, im just starting into funk so what i think of funk drumming is there is alot of off beats right?

  • I'm not really a funk drummer, but funk does have some off beats and choppy hi hat riffs and what not.

    Thanks for the kind words!!

  • Nice man! Keep playing the Drum Funk!
