  • Ugh, this just chaps my ass to no end. There was absolutely no reason to let this Tulsa icon go to ruin like this except greed and apathy. The government doesn't care what the people want, they only care about pushing their own agendas.

And now that the deal with Coweta fell through, it doesn't look like there's any chance ir will ever come back.

My childhood memories are being destroyed and there's jack-all I can do about it!

    Okay, rant over

  • @bmmangold i know right?! and they dont even let people park there during the fair time....it so stupid...i dont even know why they did that..and the fair looks really smaller and they dont even use it to put in spare rides or anything........what a bunch of retards

  • this makes me sad :( i loved bells <3

  • There wasn't a tornado, earthquake, or bomb that could take this out. Only government could succeed at something so destructive. Bring back Bells, send out the local government!

  • i remember this park i had my 10th Birthday here. and there

  • If the b*****ds had to take that wonderful place away, they could have at least taken down that ugly Driller while they were at it . When I heard about the microburst that destroyed the old Ferris wheel, my biggest regret was that it didn't get the Driller instead.

  • Bell's, KELI, KAKC, Trade Winds Motel, The Camelot, Casa Bonita (I know...it's still there, but not the same). As go the days of my childhood and early adult years, there went the places where my memories were made.

  • I grew up in Tulsa, and went to Bells and the Golden Driller all the time. I went there last in 2000 with my 2 youngest nieces, now that I know its truly gone, I am glad I had a chance to share it with family as an adult in her 40's. I was sad to hear about the Camelot as well. I lived a block from there in my 20's. So so sad. I will miss those places. I live in michigan now, but Tulsa will always be home to me.

  • when i was 6 i went on phantasmagoria and cried

  • I remember when I went to the Tulsa fair one year... and I always went to Belle's during that time.. then I noticed it wasn't there anymore... it was a horrible day...

  • omg i would love to go to this park

  • good news to anyone who hasn't heard bell's maybe coming back go to ktul.com and check it out, not coming back to Tulsa, yea true Tulsa tradition BUT there only gonna be about 33 minutes away which will be GOOD because no more dumb kids running around causing problems maybe a few more gangs, so anyone in in Wagoner county vote YES

  • All I can do is shake my head in sadness. I'm a dark ride enthusiast and had never been to Bell's. Whoever is responsible for its closing ought to be strung up by his nuts. This video is like watching Disneyland be torn down.

  • i live in cushing, and i remeber bells since i was only 4. i miss bells, i really do..... I WANT BELLS BACK.....give me a good comment if u wamt bells bacK!

  • im very sad two i hate that storm that came bye

  • @KWEKOSHKUKI12 Hey, I live in Cushing, too. I used to go to Bells too when I was a kid. There'll never be another theme park that can replace Bells...

  • This is very sad ,My name is Teresa Werts I grew up in Tulsa most every weekend I spent at bells .. I was able to share bells with my youngest son last time i was there ...I never thought it would be destroyed

  • tear it down just for a parking lot!

  • this makes me cry

  • That was the most horrible thing to see everyday, i live like a block away from bells and going past it everyday seeing it being torn piece by piece just killed me, but i got a piece of Zingo to keep for a reminder.... now all i see is a stupid ass PARKING LOT!!! how dumb?

  • I know I'm sad about it too!!

  • hey at least we have the BOK center! tickets are only, like 70 bucks a show! great place to take kids, what with all the alcoholics, down town drug dealers wandering around, etc.

my suggestion: get a part time job there, then you can watch the show for free, in between dealing with sexual harassment and people puking on each other.

  • Ah, yes. Our future is bright.

  • @phdecora who cares about frekin bok center!? this is BELL'S!

  • I grew up in T-town in the early to mid 70's. I was partially rasied at Bell's. My eldest sister Madeline (then Whitlow) was a seasonal employee for 5 years-1970 to 1975. The Phantasmagoria was THE ride, as was the Himalaya. I loved this place. It will be missed.

  • The sadness is overwhelming.

  • Randy Miller has no soul.

  • vote for sally today county commissioner

  • This is Randy Miller's fault. Moron.

  • im crying i loved this park

  • All for the glory of a new parking lot. Thanks alot Randy Miller!

  • vote for sally bell today, county commissioner, take out randy

  • i wud guess big splash is next to go.sadly

  • i don't know. from the local news (always reliable, right?), the big splash owners were part of the county board vote to get rid of bells.

  • BASTARDZ!!!

  • indeeeed!! the news stations are more reliable than the paper.

the murphey's make more money now that bell's is gone, more money for them to give to randi for her campaigns!

Vote for Sally Bell today .... retire randi!

  • If I lived in tulsa county, I most defineitly would.

  • thank u :) she creamed the incumbent randi "hole tearer" miller with 82% :) :) :)

our next pie toss will be in november against part-time democrat karen keith, a former channel 2 news anchor and a former aid to Mayor La Fortune (R). one of keith's biggest donors also donated to Miller and defends her in court in the very recent case put up by Rick Bjorkland, recently fired Expo Center Prez. the hens may try n roost, but the peeps'll hatch ;) many democrats tried to vote for sally today :)

  • I shot a portion of a movie here back in the 80s. Zingo was a principal player in the action sequence for Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective. I have some great footage of a very brave stuntman hanging on (with no safety) with his bare hands while Zingo went through its paces. (He had been advised by his stunt coordinator that is better to be thrown from a stunt like this... than dragged.... so for that reason... no harness)

Bells was a great park. Hate to see this.

  • Hey. Do you have the footage of the scene when they were riding the Himalaya? It's been so long since I've seen it.

  • I am pretty sure I have the movie... and the sequence with Eddie Dezan when he tried to prevent the hero from getting on the ride without a ticket.

My camera assistant tried to hold on top the outside of the car as it was moving... and made about 3 rotations... till he was totally exhausted. It was exciting!

I'll try to get some footage for your and post it here.

    Eskimoboat

  • cool, thanks!

  • I was so shocked and outraged to hear that this had happened. It's all city vs. county in Tulsa, and the people don't have a say at all. Have fun at the state fair!

  • what?!?!?! The Camelot's gone too?? UGH! Thats dispicable! Karma Karma Karma... i hope they get theirs!!!

  • Kathy taylor and Randi miller will get their due for trashing the Camelot and Bells.

  • this is unbelievable? how did bell's get kicked out? i hope tulsans vote out these scumbag politicians who railroaded this fine amusment patk. i am 44 and remember bell's from when i was a kid. great family memories.

i hope bell's finds a new home and comes out bigger and better than ever! too bad about phantasmagoria which was such a great dark ride!

  • Aaargh! I honestly had no idea that Bells is gone! So many memories... in fact, my very earliest memory is of a birthday party at Bell's, age 3. Of course, then, the dinosaur in the miniature golf course was a REAL dinosaur! *rimshot* Very, very sad.

  • RIP Bells Amusement Park

That par was just like a preserved 70's park and we miss it

  • Bell's was a part of the Tulsa I remember from the Seventies. I also miss the old KELi Studios that were there at the fairgrounds.

  • My dad used to work at KELI.......a million years ago. He still talks about that studio that stood above the crowd out there.

  • I listened to KELi all the time when I was a teenager and inspired me to become a radio DJ in the 80's. I even tried to apply there when it was known as "14-K/92-K" in 1983-5.

I visited the station every time I'd go to the Tulsa State Fair. I remember the studios were very small, enough room for about 3-4 people. I still have a few KELi bumper stickers and surveys. They were a great radio station along with KMOD, KAKC and Superfox 103.

  • Waaaaaaaa!!! This is so sad! I loved Bells! The Zingo was my first coaster and I have loved Roller Coasters ever since! Im going to miss this place. I hope they rebuild. Im 13 and this tears a hole in my early childhood.

  • im a little younger than you and im like in love with thrills since this place ive been here once and its thanks to that trip that im out riding stuff like KingDa Ka so dude, i know how it feels and it sucks 10 times crazy

  • exactly. my first roller coaster ride was the zingo too. ima miss bells so much. :(

  • I live within a mile of the Old Bells.

I've lived here since I was 1. I saw the Golden Driller build. I played my 1st baseball game where the Horse Track is now. My 1st roller caoster was Zingo. My Daughter got to ride this last year with me. Sadly my son was still to little.

We miss you Bells. God Bless Robbie and your Family.
