What makes Beyonce so successful is that she has a lot of the glitz, beauty, and stage presence that makes up for what her voice is lacking. Her shaky voice has become part of her singing style and Obama choose her because of Etta because Etta is now 73 and Beyonce appeals to more of the younger voters (like yourself). She has improved by leaps and bounds, but NOT all of her songs sound like 1+1. Even in this song, she sounds amazing until she hits the higher notes and the screaming begins!

I don't think it's a beyonce situation. Just certain songs need to be left alone. For instance.....Chris Brown did a rendition of "This Christmas" and I thought it was tastefully done. Now Mary J Blige sang live with Anita Baker "Rapture" if I'm not mistaken and her voice just didn't match. Sometimes we want to hear the original and that's it! I'm like that too and then there's time that new singer knock the old version straight out the box! This song wasn't one of them.

Chorus is another way of saying 'unite'.
