@BeepBoopBoo When he was 17 he had an accident that cut him the tip of his two fingers. Iommi decided not to learn to play guitar right-handed so he replaced the missing tip with some prothesis he made. And he always played that way!

Love Tony as a rythm guitarist but never liked him as a lead guitarist. Still respect him as a lead player considering how little feeling he must have in his fretting hand.

I still believe the heaviest sound he ever put to record was the into to Iron Man on Live Evil - his guitar covered all the frequencies - so much so that a bass was hardly needed - but it was heavy as hell when Geezer kicked in.

@Luggichani Pretty well known at this point, last day of work at a metal factory he got into an accident and lost the tips of his middle and ring fingers on his right hand. He downtuned his guitar to make on his fingers and pretty much had a huge hand in the "heavy metal" sound. Sabbath's overall sound would of likely been pretty different and what happened after that much so.

When you hear him playing the opening riff you still get that vibe of impending doom. You cant learn that in school kids. Its projecting personality through your instrument. I know he is not exactly a peer, but Eddie Van Halen heaps praise on Iommi . Music is not about knowing a million scales and playing a million miles an hour, its about CREATIVITY and ORIGINALITY and MELODY. 1000 years from now people will still revere Sabbath.

My friend popped the CD into this giant stereo he had, and War Pigs came on and it just went BOOM!!! It was so magical. Not because I were stoned but, I had never heard anything like that in my life. You are right. 1000 years from now, people will revere Sabbath. How could they not? They were one-of-a-kind.

The thing i like about Tony is that he is so unassuming, polite, wise and kind. These qualities are the "glue" that keeps Black Sabbath together. Tony Iomi is the type of bloke you could meet at a pub or have fish and chips with. A mullet frizzed easy going bloke. At one extreme he is a millionare guitar "maestro" and on the other he is an easy going bloke who could happily share a beer with the road crew and pub yobbos. You're a fucking champion Tony and dont let anyone tell you otherwize!!
