  • Takes me back to the Roundhouse 'Implosion' on Sundays. Happy days! Marc Bolan was Tyrannosauraus Rex then, with Steve (Peregrine) Took. Quintessence? Also seem to remember Stranglers there one week, before they made the step up to the Hope and Anchor in Upper Street. Edgar Broughton? Still, just a nearly-60 year old reminiscing.

    Jeff

  • It's like puff the magic dragon and bob dylan had a baby and named it some Indian name... I like it!

  • ha ha! what a blast from the past. My dad used to play this to all us kids . . .he did learn the song my mum sang, thank goodness for that (:

  • Once and more times listening to The Hedgehog Song by the Incredible String Band helped coax me out of a 20-year sleep. Maybe you'll like it, too.

  • Fabulous!

  • So HAPPY to find them again after all these years. What a goldmine. I used to go talk to Robin during some of his solo gigs in NYC. What a gentleman and fascinating man.

Check out his Ten of Songs solo album put out in the 80.s on Flying Fish Records. The last time I saw him, he took my suggestion for a closing tune, "The Parting Glass" which performed with the Celtic Harp accompanyment. Incredible indeed!

  • Hey ajwebeman, what a cruel thing to say. Try Scientology, It Works as Mike would say to you.

Robin found a fine Indian lass to love andthe only junk he has to deal with is yours.

    Idiot!

  • Mike Heron, I love you :)

  • I saw a giant centipede then it split up and turned into a flock of sheep. that's when I turned into a wolf and the farmer found me mounting one of his OE's. Those where the days.

  • search nicolas and the iceni rowan. they write beautiful folk music which has echoes of the string band and the early folk revival of the sixties.

  • Ive seen seagulls on LSD ,,,bot no hedgehogs,,thank goodness,

  • Incredible String Band, and Donovan were both so underrated and amazing. If anyone doesn't know Donovan go listen to him now!!! He is another Scottish Psychedelic/Celtic/Folk singer/song-writer from the 1960's and he is still playing today. He is fucking amazing!

  • Got a huge signed painting of that on the kitchen wall. Love it.

  • Psychedelic folk, yes.

  • They started taking junk and became the Incredible Strung Out Band

  • I just got this CD on Amazon because I had seen this band many times in S.F. in the 60's and loved them. Brings me back to a happier time.

  • mate of mine played this album persistently way back....thought it was odd at first ,but then got hooked.....load of good tracks...unique style

  • This is still one of my favorite songs of all time...

  • This was my favorite song when I was a little girl, I knew all the lyrics! The other day it just popped into my head so I searched for it...I love it even more now :)

  • Wonderful trippy hippy song...ya never quite learned the song...

  • I can think of a lot worse, Look at all that rap rubbish that contaminants the charts.

I was gutted they did not sing this song when I saw them as a kid.

  • @Django5198 So what was your life like before you discovered trolling?

  • @jkibler1112 Sorry man I'm not great with internet words. What exactly is trolling?

  • @Django5198

i for one find it fantastic. what's the point of watching this if you're just going to put it down?

  • @shoekstra1419 Cause I read about this band and I wanted to check them out. I was dissapointed.

  • luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahh I first saw it i was all like oh god this is gonna be retarded but nope I LOVE IT ALOT!! :D

  • ISB; Quirky.

  • ok odd.

  • Excellent research nice song

  • Point of information: weird SCOTTISH folkband

  • wow, I'm a young girl again, me and Susan are locked in her bedroom listening to this weird English folkband, and loving it

  • this was the first ISB song I heard...being sung by friends on the way to school in 1966! Pretty soon I was singing it myself and pretty soon I was going to all their concerts and keeping up with all their albums and of course more recently getting it all again on CD...and it's all still GREAT

  • Wikipedia led me to this band.

What website is just magical sometimes.

  • aww yeah

  • Loved them then and now.

  • Did you have to request permission to use this track from anyone? I only ask because I would quite like to use it in a video I've created featuring my hedgehog but I don't know if there's a copyright issue.

  • @junglistJim the worst that will probably happen is you'll get asked to take it down, but I bet that won't even happen, people post vids all the time with songs they don't have rights to and those songs are way more well known than this one

  • @nicforte and @ junglistJim

When I post a song I usually get a message about copyright as it's uploading, but with the exception of Sony in Germany (German Musician's Union arguing over fees per view) it stays up. I usually include a link to where you can buy the track in the text also. This particular track was muted by Youtube for a year, but I left it up and they switched it back on again. The copyright owners append adverts to the page when you play it - reasonable deal in my view.

  • @junglistJim you have a hedgehog? oh my god. i love you :)

  • love you always isb

  • You know all the words and you sang all the notes

but you never quite learn the song

  • this was the album bob managed to save on pirate radio only to have the other guy throw it away.

  • what a year, 1967, for great music... This was Paul McCartney's favourite album that year, btw

  • @deadawrence oh that would taint it for me a little if i didn't love them so much.

  • Bought the original album for 50p from a market stall in St andrews back in 1980. Kept it for a few years then gave it away to my then girlfriend.....bugger!

  • thanks to rebecca koury for getting me into this group

  • hey, I hadn't heard this one for 30 years. I discovered that I stll knew all the words, o boy what a time that was...

  • Ah new the that that hog beuitlul

  • One of their ten best songs.

  • Takes me right back. Thank you :)) x

  • Eternally grateful to Gloria Theresa Van Brocklin Hollahan Dooley, etc., for turning me on to this wonderful group in 1971.."first girl I loved.." Indeed, that was you, Gloria.

  • Dear to Rowan Williams and John Peel - and to me, for that matter (Julie Felix did it splendidly too).

  • "my cousin has great changes coming....."

  • Great to hear this song again. Thanks for the posting.

  • One of my favourite songs & album covers!
