I find the idea to be quite intriguing and engaging. From a perspective as both a student and instructor, students are too often confounded by a lack of critical information at their fingertips and often rely on generalities that are often untrue. Your idea equips individuals with a rather inexpensive solution that provides them the tools and technology to make informed life decisions.
@OsmoticRichardo Thank you! The lack of information is a huge issue for a lot of us and I would love to see people equipped to find information for themselves. The lack of expensiveness is a great incentive as well. Thanks for the comment.
This is a wonderful idea, and the great thing about it is that implementation of it is very possible. It wouldn't require whole new infrastructures or technology - it is all at our fingertips now - and netbooks are cheap!!! :)
@mcquillan86 Thank you! I'm glad you mentioned infrastructure because you are right about that. The wide availability of cellphone networks in most developing countries would work perfectly with this. In addition many of the 2/3 world countries that could benefit from this have very new networks that would support the the technology further.
I think that this is not only a very well put together presentation, but an excellent idea; it is simple, cost effective, and easy to implement. I believe that some of the best ideas are often the most simple, and think that you've come up with a great idea that will truly make an impact on such an important global issue. Kudos!
@asf07 Thank you. I agree with the idea that people could take charge of their own cause and that's what I really love about the netbooks being used in Bangladesh. The more power in the local community the better.
This is great, and what a fantastic idea! I truly hope that you are able to share your thoughts and ideas with others, and I'd definitely like to hear more.
This is a fantastic idea!! I love anything that provides technology to those without, but to focus on nutrition is something that's extremely important to boot!!
Great idea! I agree with you on the lack of information. The more information we can get out to people all over the more we can do to better our world.
Really well thought out! I think you would be a huge asset in making the company's technology really accessible and, most of all, USEFUL to people all around the world. Well done!
Using the mobile technology, it would help with mapping the hardest hit areas with real-time updates and statistics, inventory counts and efficiently ordering supplies faster and easier.
@aeontriad The inventory concept is a great idea and it could connect back with the goal of improving nutrition by, for example, ordering more protein if that was the need. I hadn't thought about inventory like that. Very cool!
After hearing about the women in Bangladesh and finding out just how much they can help people just with netbooks, I believe that this is a really great idea! Good work!
This is awesome, and SUCH a good idea! If Americans can use the internet to look up random info endlessly, why not use the same principal in 3rd world countries for info that really matters?
This is a great presentation with well presented ideas. It has me interested in how this could be developed further.

This is a good idea, it will spread information and allow those in even the hardest-hit areas to use that take charge and help their own cause.
