one of the most amazing men born to this earth. a gift from God to the common man or anyone who had an ear to hear. his death was an unmeasurable loss to humanity. this amazing man is, i assure u, at the right hand of Jesus right now. thank you Mr. King for everything you did to wake us up. Peace
a great orator and a great plagiarist (the crescendo of this speech is stolen yet you won't hear about it because to say so is to be not just 'unamerican' but racist)...
yes...very god observation. The "crescendo" of this speech... the "crescendo" is definitely stolen. i am sure he decided to steal, this particular "crescendo". I wonder who first composed this "crescendo". The first person should have put like...., like, a patent, on the "crescendo" so that it would no be stolen by anyone else. you know, yesterday, i was talking to myself, and i discovered a new "crescendo" i think i should put some kind of patent so no one else should copy it
Actually the King family holds a copyright patent on the entire speech (which includes the plagiarized passages). Reverend Archibald Carey delivered a speech at the 1952 Republican Convention that was stolen and improved upon by King.
Gaven Tradoux reported on the MLK Jr. penchant to plagiarize previously: "Even the much celebrated "I have a dream" speech of 1963 was plagiarized. By a peculiar turn of events, the source King raided for this was a speech given to the Republican National convention of 1952, by a black preacher named Archibald Carey."
you seem to be really into this whole thing. to be honest, i have not invstigated your claims, but assuming they are true, i think it is a very superficial observation to make, given the circumstances of MLK. i am not sure what your intnetions really are, and again, since we are all human, if you wanted to only point out the erronity of one's actions, there would be absolutely nothing left.
Even Einstein and Newton said some stupid things, that does not make him stupid. i could argue that your assessment of MLK is arbitrary, again, given the circumstances, he was not an applicant for a masters programme writing a research proposal...

Intention: to challenge orthodoxies and try to understand why some orthodoxies are more precious than others. From Montgomery until the end MLK was right. But let's look at the "content of his character"... His adulterous practices, communist affiliations, and penchant for plagiarizing. Look at the whole man not just what we are told to believe.
in that case....how many other orthodoxies have you challenged so publicly? surely, if you were truly a challenger of orthodoxies, then there are endless ones you can pursue.
And if this is the only "orthodoxy" you have chosen to challenge, then, your intention is not sinciere.
again, saying that MLK is a great person does not imply, and has never implied that he is a saint. But that there are some of his choices that stand out.
I'm not familiar with the Archibald Carey's 1952 speech you referenced. Please put it on Youtube so I can see (or hear) it for authentication. Thanks.
If this man was still alive he would not approve of how America is being run.
Time for a revolution

99% make you a majority, does not make you righteous. Reflect on the history! MLK is for freedom and righteousness, not for majority.

We are not afraid today;
We are walking hand in hand,
We shall overcome,
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome !!
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We're on to victory !!
The truth shall make us free !!
We are 99%
Together, we can make the world a better place !!

Just Google "Archibald Carey" + "Plagiarism" and you'll have enough to go on.
