  • If you think all pick ups need an assisted lift tailgate your a bunch of wimpy idiots, it weighs like 10 pounds .

  • Wrong. Most Chevy, and Ford trucks are made in the U.S., and even if they're made in the U.S. most of the money is going back to Japan.

  • @SecularTechnology Wrong, many "domestics" are assembled in mexico or canada. Toyota gives Americans thousands of jobs and produce superior products.

  • Nice truck. I actually rode in one & I have to say, I thought it was pretty good considering Toyota is relatively new to the large truck market. I personally like Ford's, but sometimes, a little competition can help all companies make better things

  • the 07 and up gm trucks have the easy lift tail gate as well and the 6.2 liter from gm is the most powerful engine on the market for a half ton truck.

  • The Tundra regular cab or the double cab aren't bad looking trucks, but the Tundra crewmax is awful in appearance.

  • Mu Tundra will blow the doors off all your Fords and Chevys. Period. :)

  • nope gms 6.2 liter will tear the tundra up

  • @petorian1 hmm chevy 6.2 vs 5.7 toyota chevy 0-60 7 sec toyota 7.2 wow thats tearing a tundra up considering the engine displacement there can be no comparison you cant put the 5.3 up against the 5.7 because you would cry foul and the 6.2 isnt comparable either so you cant compare trucks

  • @216slaughter the 5.3 has nothing to do with this i was talkin bout the 6.2

  • @ultraclay AND MY FORD WILL STAY STRAIGHT FRAMED AND OUTLAST THAT JAP CRAP ITS A TRUCK IF YOU WANT FAST THEM BUY A LIGHTNING OR SS OR SRT I BEAT MY TRUCK DAILY I DELIVER FREIGHT IN IT AND I HAVE YET TO SEE A TOYOTA HANDLE BEING OVER LOADED BETTER THAN THE AMERICAN TRUCKS

  • @smokefast90606 You know that little button on the left side of the keyboard that says caps lock? Turn that off. Toyotas are made in The U.S., thus not "jap crap", most domestics are assembled in canada or mexico. Based on the stupidity of your comment, i dont expect you to aknowledge this.

  • @ultraclay

No it's transmission would fail and I, in my Chevy 4.3 v6 blazer would more than likely end up having to tow your ass to the local ford or chevy dealership to get you a real truck

  • Every truck test against Chevy,Ford,Dodge, and Nissan toyota has beat all so get a Toyota and besides toyota has way more power than a 5.3 v8 5.4 v8 but i like american vehicles to because of their awesome spoet carsXD

  • i like how you compared an orange to an apple. have you taken your medicine yet?

  • regardless if they ever made a disel it would still b a v8 with less towing power and and yes i took my meds (cough cough)

  • a 3.0L V6 mercedies diesel makes 401 lbs-ft. diesel is made for torque.

  • Nice truck. I drive a Camry SE because I have no need for trucks. For those of you who don't know, the Camry and the Tundra are both developed in California and Michigan and built in America. Camry is definitely the best sedan out there.

  • this truck looks like crap

  • GARBAGE

  • Hello To All Toyota Fans!

The 5.7L engine this big bad truck sports is made by GM! Thats a FACT! Toyota got help from GM with this truck, and also on the Camary, which is based off the Malibu that GM makes.... So when you go buy a Toyota and drive away in you Small Block 350 GM engine powered Tundra....well LOL remember who makes you V8!

  • First off Toyota has been making V8's before you were born. They have been making diesel engines also. Second If you don't see it here in the US it doesn't mean it don't exist. Third keep on dreaming your lucky the government is helping GM for all there screwups.

  • your so full of shit it is funny did you get hammered and come up with this one nice gm has nothing to do with the i force v8 gm 350s are pushrod moters iforce is overhead cam and iforce is technecly a 5.6 345cid they rounded up to make themselves look beater i my self am a ford fan. not to be a dick or any thing when you comment make sure it is some what right and you were gm helped toyota in the 90s with corola

  • wow retard. just because it is engineered and built by american doesnt mean gm helped. But it is the reason why the quality went down for the new tundra, built in america.

  • and as for the engine u do realized the gm engine is a pushrod right? the toyota is a dohc with dual variable valve timming. better engine thatn the 350.

  • this is why Ford is in bankrupcy, bty so does GM

  • ford isnt in bankrupcy, they arent even takeing any of the bailout money. its all chevy and dodge buddy

  • Actually GM and Chrysler LLC are taking the $13.4 Billion.

  • yeah thats what i ment when i said it. lol

  • ummmm when did Ford file bankrupcy???? they dont need government help to run a company

  • they are not in bankruptsy like gm is because they are being smart and cutting spendings, but they are still not getting profits.

  • Just so you know toyota is going to the japanese government for money just like gm and chrystler did and nissan is going to go to the japanese government too so its not just 1 company its a world wide thing. Also ford is making a proffit, check their stock. when it has a little + sign next to the percent, that means its going up just an fyi.

  • no shit. everyone is suffereing. but no one is in worst shape than the big three.

  • yea but its a cycle and soon enough ford will be back up. But ford makes a way better truck than toyota ever will.

  • dude u are jut a silly ford fanboy. Yes they make great trucks indeed. but the way there reputatioin was i doubt they will ever see the top. toyota tundra was a great hit when it first came out. Scared the shiz out of all the other truck makers. thats the reason why ford came out withthe new f150 and giving it rediculous capabilities that no half ton needs. The pickup truck segment is strong and really there isnt a bad truck out there...its all about brand loyalty.

  • The top? Ford has been on the top for over 37 years. in 2008 even with the bad economy ford sold over 500,000 trucks. And how do you figure no half ton needs those capabilities? If someone needs to tow 11,000 pounds they have to go buy a super duty or some 2500 series truck? That was the dumbest statement I have ever heard. Also it can haul so much because its frame is so strong, that means it will last for alot longer than other trucks and also it is made of light metal so it gets great mpg.

  • they led years of being top seller. not top truck. The chevy trucks were hands down the best built more reliable trucks. U sir are stupid as fuck. If u can manage to tow 11000 lb at high speeds show me a vid and prove yourself. not gonna happen buddy. that is the reason why they build heavey duty trucks. half tons are recreational vehicles and light work vechils not heavy duties. Its all about braggin rights. nothing more.

  • Did you know that some people use their trucks for work? Thats when they use that high towing and high payload. Thats not braggin rights. Also did you know that the f150 got motor trend truck of the year for 2009? Beat all other trucks. Usually when a vehicle gets numerous top ratings it is top. Also did you know that there are numerous failures with the 5.7l tundra's engine?

  • well i will agree with u with that. if it is used for work hauling short distances around a contruction sight but towing an 11k boat to a camp site hundreds and hundred of miles away...not happening. one you will destroy your tranny and two your engine will die faster.did u know the tundra got motortrend truck of the year in 07...U dont realize how those awards are handed out. Again i said numerous times the f150 is a good truck in deed but u are very ignorant to think all the others are bad.

  • that vid just explains everything i am telling u. Are u not learning anything

  • Also, the tundra only gets 11 more lb-ft of torque when the f150 is using e85.

  • Also the toyota has a trapezoidal frame which is horrible. So much body lean and poor strength. Some crappy japanese metal welded together. For the tundra coming out so late (1999) they don't have a fully boxed frame. How stupid is that. Also the American government wouldn't be buying tons of f 150s for when they make new highways. Ford just signed the contract recently. Don't see them buying any other truck. And why would you want to support japan by buying toyota? Why not support America?

  • did u know that the ford hd's uses trapezoidal frame also? no because you are a stupid ford fan boy once again that reads to many magazines. toyota did not care about the fullsize truck segment back in the day. But now they realize how big this segment in america is they decided to give it a try to have a piece of the pie and they have been doing one hell of a good job.

  • And another thing that makes u retarded is that u think that the gov't pays full price? u know they do recieve incentives from ford and chevy and dodge to buy their products. Why do u think there is no japanese cop car or german cops car in america. sry to bust your bubble but u dont knw hat u are talking about. i buy from japanese brands because we had our share of american vehicles...junk. junk. lost trust. toyota never failed us. in fact all our toyotas have over 300k with no probs.

  • when did i say the government pays full price? I am a manager at the ford plant in st paul minnesota. Produce rangers. Did you know that the tundra can only haul 1,580 pounds? The f250 and above can all haul over 3,500 pounds? Some haul over 6,000 lb So don't even compare the tundra to them. That just proves how poor quality the metals they are using are. And I think i dont see any foreign cop cars because it is america and they don't use foreign car companies for their government.

  • but why would anyone tow such amounts of weights with a haft ton? i havent seen one yet. anything over 7k....do yourself a favor and get a diesel. u will save lots of money from repairs.

  • and as far as engine problems..they were recalls for 07 model year. invovling drive shaft and cam shafts not being coated enough with a special coating to keep it from breaking. again those recalls were done and away and gone for 08-09 models which are rated to be the most reliable in the pickup truck segment. no recalls no problems reported ever since then.

  • You only said the f150 was a good truck in your previous post. When you said you agree. Search this also.

2009 Motor Trend Truck of the Year - Road Loop and Judging

Tundra wasn't included tho as it wasn't a new truck but none the less. And I have never said all trucks are bad I just think the toyota is all smoke and mirrors hiding behind their commercials and their 5.7l engine. And also the chevy silverado won truck of the year in 2007.

  • the 5.7 liter is a better engine than the 5.4. teh 5.4 is more fuel effiencient because its a smaller displacement and has lower power numbers. toyota new 4.6 liter for next year will produce the same amout of hp and get better mpg than the 5.4 .

  • Yea I know it has a smaller engine. But if you can tow more why would you need a bigger engine? You would just be getting worse gas millage. And that's not out yet. so when it comes out we will see.

  • and just to correct u your "japanese metal" is built in america with american stuff. so its poor crappy american metal welded together. lmao..you are stupid indeed.

  • assembled in america but they get their metal from japan.

  • lol.. u seriously make me laugh big time. Toyota uses the same suppliers as ford gm and dodge. toyota does not give incentives for companies to buy there truck. that the is reason why it doesnt sell workt truck wise. Well u said the trapezoidal frames are junk so your callling the hd ford truck frames crap also. the tundra was designed to tow. and it tows alot in deed over 10k in all configuration, sr5 limited crew max regular cab.....all configurations.

  • I said that the tundra's trapezoidal frame sucks. If it cant have over 1,580 pounds on the frame, that just shows how weak it is. OK the f150 can tow more than the tundra, 11,300. Also if you're saying let me see someone towing that much at high speeds, same goes to you. And you saying get a super duty there is no point if I can get what i need easier on the f150. Search this on youtube.

2009 Ford F150 Capability Overview with Cut-Away Views of Truck

    There he explains everything.

  • no that doesnt explain anything. u are obviously not a trucker. the tundras max payload is 2000 lb in regular cab configuartion and 1500 lbs in all other cab configurations. Again the trapezoidal frame is amazing when it comes to towing as u can see the F hD's are great. hauling all depends on the leaf springs not only frame. The titan and silvy is fully box and can only haul the same as the tundra. the f150 is equiped with wider thicker leafs. that is the reason why it hauls that much.

  • I actually own a 2008 f150. I drive up to my cabin in Duluth Minnesota with my boat, and one atv every summer. My boat is an 18' Maxum and my atv is a 300cc Honda. And if you saying no one tows that much, why would toyota need a very flexible frame if they could the towing people need out of a safer fully boxed frame?

  • lol. a small boat and an atv...thats a typical weekend tow. thats not any where near 11k. thats more like 5-6k. I said no one tows 11k recreationally...not even big trailers way that much. My buddy has a tahoe and he tows a big ass trailer but it only weighs 7k. i tow a boat with my nissan pathfinder. 5k max..i would never do that. i only tow 2k boat. 16 ft bass boat.

  • OK just telling you what I do. And thats 174.77 miles from my house to duluth. Thats just there so there and back is 349.54 miles roughly once a month for 5 months. So around 1,700 miles maybe. Estimating. Have you seen the comparisin video on fords website? Its quite interesting? Ill pm the link.

  • ford has never filed bankrupcu unlike there counterparts

  • I also drove all the pickups and the Tundra by far is the best. I've owned them all, and the tundra kills them all. And the customer service is outstanding. Once you buy a domestic from a dealer they dont give a crap about you.

  • It's so smart of Toyota to decide to build the truck and motor in the US. I learned this in one of the clips. It is therefore not the cheapest truck. Americans workers make more money than Mexican, so that's logic.

But also...Toyota quality is a standard..

And it means Japanese Toyota DO think of their working people very much. Also if those workers are American. Your welfare above the profit by producing Mexican..

This is just my European view. We don't even have a truck culture here.

  • I drove every 1/2 ton 2008 pickup before I made a choice on what to buy. There is no comparison that the tundra was best. Silverado was pretty nice too...The titan drives good but I didn't really like the style.

About the ride being stiff...It is at higher speeds but its a truck. It's not going to ride like a car. Also when I was towing my snowmobiles the suspension really feels great, even at the higher speeds.

  • This is all very amusing. 'I only buy american. This (american made) "japanese" truck is shit!' People and their useless brand loyalty...

  • Don't playa-hate!

    Appreciate!

Now the domestics have to make better trucks

Unless you like driving things that explode on impact

  • that is ironic, because according to USA today, Tundras are the ONLY full size truck that had thier sales rise in 2008 so far, both ford and chevys full size pickup sales has fell over 15 %.

  • is that why ford is in bankrupcy?????

because lat i checked f150 and f250 belonged to ford

  • The SIlverado is STILL the highest selling truck at the moment

  • Uhh, except not. The Ford F-150 has been the number one selling truck for the past 32 years.

  • The past, yes. But not right now.

  • The F150 sold 515,000 units in '08, the Silverado sold 465,000 units. This data was made available January 5th, 2009. I don't know where your data is coming from but you must have a massive amount of resources to get turnover that fast.

  • did that douchbag said the styling was blend??dick is blind.

  • Wow 381bhp? The sensible Toyota's gone mad! Sorry Yankees, but from a third part... This is better than the F150, althought I rather like it. Japs are going to lay down the last full-american Myth: the Pick-Up Truck! 5.7 litres? They are joking also with numbers since 5.7 is more american that McDrive

  • Great Truck!

  • no thnx make mine Chevy!!

GM trucks get better mileage, can carry heavier load and are way more reliable too.

    fk this Blundra

  • haha yeah any American truck

  • Now that may be the most American auto review I have ever seen hehe.

  • Best truck= Chevy Silverado

  • I only drive American.

  • what do u mean american this truck is 85% built in u.s in san antonio TX, the engine is built KY tires, body, every thing in american built

  • yeah, i´m from Argentina and the japanese trucks aren´t good here. I had a F100 Ford with 292 V8, the best.

    Bye...........

  • I had a F100 too with a v6. It was a real good truck.

  • So you drive a tundra?

  • No. You traitor. Why don't you go sell out somewhere else whore.

  • It was your sorry ass "american" trucks that sold out to Mexico.... Sucker

  • Go back to eating your burrito.

  • actually no. there still made right here in the U.S.A

  • Toyota Tundra- the best 1/2-ton truck on the road...period!!!

  • Great truck!

  • Learn how to spell "foreign". I assume that as someone who loves American trucks, English is your primary language?

Second of all, your loyalty is misplaced. You should be buying what is best, not what is American. In a Capitalist Free-Market system, your money speaks and you should be encouraging competition. Put your money where you get the best value. There's a reason why Toyota is tops in the world.

  • @sdijnfpo0jaisf

Yeah you're right american's should buy the best which is why ford and chevy top the sales list.

  • The Tundra is actually made in the us. Most Chevy and Fords are made in Canada or Mexico, so buying the "foreign" truck is actually helping American workers.

  • @cjhenks Or you could buy dodge, there still made in america, actually not all fords and chevy's are made out of the US they both have plants in the US that build there vehicles.

  • What's up with the glued-on black plastic trim piece on the top of the grille, it screams cheap. You can get your nails up under it.
