Realistic kills would be :

-1 shot with any weapon in the head or the heart. Instant kill in the head, fast agony in the heart

-long agony if hit in another part of the body

-assault rifles and sniper can pierce body armor, pistols, SMG and shotguns can't

Someone should make a mod where YOU could only sustain 1/2 hits and maybe a dozen with the bulletproof jacket. That would make escaping the police much more challenging and realistic (the main reason why the police is so ineffective in GTA games is because you can take a million bullets even without the armor).

And there's one more thing I remembered from the old GTAs - Spike strips. They were used in Vice City. Although GTA 4 is great and all, the only thing the police does is, well, chase you and shoot you. They really should make the police more versatile, like putting spikes and barriers across the streets and maybe they could put something on the road that really makes you car stop, like that prototype net that wraps around the wheels.

Maybe in GTA 5?

If GTA would be more like Driver, let's say a smaller game which includes only mini - missions where you rob a bank and try to gtfo, like a cop chase simulator, then that would be suitable.

I've seen kills from a number of weapons in real life, and I can say this is actually pretty damn close. Though headshots can be a bit silly: if the person is literally dead on bullet impact (like from a suicide), their knees buckle and they go down, bounce up a little, and fall down. It looks a LOT different from any depiction in games or movies.

When you grow up you could try firing a gun urself and do some research before you make a fool out of yourself :) According to Mythbusters a Shotgun and a deer slug provides the maximum amount of energy transferred into a body from about 30 feet...and that will still only push you back an inch or two, you would probably still be standing if you wear enough protection.

What you are saying is physically impossible and i can explain it...Assuming the gun and shooter are at rest, the force on the bullet is equal to that on the gun/shooter. This isdue to Newton's third law of motion (For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction). Understanding that will tell you that for the victim to be thrown backwards, the shooter has to go an equal distance in the opposite direction.
