I wonder if phoning 999 and asking your local brigade to help find an artist to paint a picture for the mayors birthday would get such a response these days!!
Seriously i loved this when i was tiny, thanks for sharing
You really got to think how many, buildings have burnt down while the, Fire Brigade were looking for this painter. Surely there are more important things they can be doing than finding, painters. Get the, Police of that.
Still, It is a nice series, You really got to miss when, Childrens Programming was decent, eh? o.O
In the night Garden ha an end sequence not dissimilar to this, where all the characters gather around a bandstand and a tune plays that is very much like this one. The tunes and songs to Trumpton, Chigley and amberiwick Green are all fantastic.
@kgriff65 Can you imagine doing that in real life? After your day at work, you don't go to the pub, or home to watch telly, you go to the Bandstand instead. ;)
I used to love the bandstand waltz at the end - the tune... every episode ended with that and I loved it! Fab memories from a long lost time....sadly.
Note that at 3:29 the fire engine castes two shadows on the houses as it drives past. In reality there would be only one shadow. So we now have proof that Trumpton was faked, just like the moon landings.
...and not only a band concert, but a band concert with an invisible guitarist in it, I could never work that out, that I heard a guitar, but could not see one.
Yes, it's weird, isn't it? That guitar is as plain as day. And I tell you what, Mr Clamp is a dead ringer for Neville Chamberlain! I'm surprised he didn't say 'Peace in our Time' when he handed the painting over to the Fire Brigade.
god help the people of Trumpton if there was ever a fire...the town's brigade always seems to be otherwise engaged carrying out someone's tedious errands! Thanks for uploading this, it brings back a lot of very happy memories!

The person driving the fire engine should have his license taken from him for breaking Health & Safety laws!

In 2010 Trumpton is inhabited by Somalians and Paki's.

Not a very big turnout for the mayor's birthday. Maybe he had been fiddling his expenses claims.

What I looked forward to in every episode was the 'band concert' at the end. That music makes me laugh out loud even now.
