well ... Maximova was amazing (so was Vasiliev), her fouetees with her hands on her waist are just legendary. To think that some people find Fonteyn amazing just beggars belief.

@jgh37 can you please, please tell me what is the point to compare two ballerinas that are completely differents, that come from two very differents schools, and that belong to two different times?I find Fonteyn amazing , same as Katja, but I understand ballet, I love ballet...I am so tired, can´t really take this crap like yours no more.

@merluzasfritas Good for you that you find Fonteyn amazing...I don't. The whole point of this website and the possibility of commenting that it offers is to exchangedifferent opinions and discuss them. If you find comments like mine tiring don't read them and don't reply to them...it will save you a lot of time and effort. But then again you won't be able to show the world that you know about ballet...which is the reason why you reply. Is this the only stage you have to do so? Sad.

Well thanks for sharing your experiences, because those are things I can only imagine... one of my greatest dreams is to travel to Russia one day, but my favorite dancers... they don´t dance anymore so, really I can only imagine the excitement of watching them live! and also the pain of not having them around anymore, since I really felt Maximovas death and I never met her... it is really great meeting people like you!

This LEGENDARY pair is now archieved in the annuls of history; but they'll continue to take away people's breaths so long as film (in whatever form; eg DVD, Blu-Ray) exists.
