The video, to me anyhow, is about how life is after "the one" has left; how lonely it is to be the support system to someone who's moved on. It's saying how fragile life is to begin with, so it admonishes us to treasure every single moment we have with those we love, because we never know when it's going to be taken away from us.

I have loved this song for a long time, but today is the first time I actually watched the video for it. I don't get it. The guy got hit, but why was he filming the drive? Was he trying to kill himself?

Yeah. I thumbs-upped this for the song before I saw the video, which is confusing. Did the guy have an accident? I've always thought this was a great song about supporting people you love as they take chances.
