Silly WINE. I prefer just running XP and using Avast!. Honestly, that makes Windows just as  good as Linux, Minus Linux's speed superiority.

I downloaded it on 8.04 and had a good time using it On highest game settings it worked with a strong 30-40 fps. Now I'm having trouble as I updated my system to 9.04 and it goes down to <10 fps. Even if I set settings to fastest quality: Pixel shader disabled, useGLSL disabled(regedit), and emulating or not emulating a desktop doesn't make difference.

@BoroMonokli Is the driver for your video card working properly in 9.04? still, i think the problem is with wine's version. Try another version, unninstal it and download the version you were using before in winehq.

hey maybe u can help me . i downloaded guild wars and installed in wine 1.0.1 it downloaded everything nicely when i opened it with wine. but the when i create an account it asks for a damn key. do u know were i can get one for a short time? i wana try this out.

there is game activation card, other side of it is key( serial key with numbers)

You have to buy it. Even private servers require buying the game. But you should really, it's lots of fun. :P Hope it helped

you dont run it through wine

there's a thing called virtual box

it's an app you can find in the ad remove apps selection

you instal windows into virtual box on your computer and it's pretty much a xp desktop on your linux desktop in it's own window. it's pretty nifty i would recomend getting it for itunes and other xp programs only.

no i have a video about it. and if u really did it u would know why i siad no. virtual box does not run games in it. because it does not support graphic cards. or 3d acceleration. lol good try tho

go to system-> administation -> synaptic package manager and search for "wine" mark it for installation and when do download guildwars from the web site. it should be an exe file. open it with wine and there u go =]

What version do you have? I have Ubuntu, so I just go to "add new programs" search for "wine" click install... Same for the snes emulator.

It did with 0.9 wine, but not after upgradeing. Now there's 1.1.3 version I think... And works fine...

Linux is great, if only my graphics card drivers were supported by linux i would move.
