If one single pitch crept over the fence for a homerun because of the 'roids, he does not deserve even so much as a snif of cooperstown. Hope it was worth it Barryless.
I don't condone steroid use, but all you that are complaining can't tell me you didn't enjoy the excitement of watching the three main juice kings McGwire,Bonds and Sosa crushing the ball out of the park. I'm pretty sure no Giants,Cubs or Cardinals fans were complaining at the time.
Barry Bonds has never failed a Drug Test in the MLB, All of those people who beleive that steroids make you a better hitter you are all WRONG. Steroids do NOT increase your skills of hand-eye-coordination.
@charger17000 better hitter? no. but how many guys would be hitting 50-73 home runs a year if they were juicing and adding like 50-100 feet to every hit ? all of a sudden a routine fly becomes a bomb.
i agree big james..the steroid era has all but depleted major league baseball, so we might as well take whats best from it. Barry is part of the 400-400 club and in all reality, steroids dont help you actually HIT the ball, just hit for distance, and they definitely dont steal you bases. his hand eye coordination is crazy and like james said, he never broke any of baseballs rules. plus his swing is one of a kind, he belongs in the Hall no doubt
Dont forget the only member of the 500-500 club as well. people forget how great he was even before the 73 hr year. before the 2001 season he had 9 All-Star appearances, 8 Gold Gloves, 8 Silver Sluggers and 471 Stolen Bases. That alone Is amazing
Barry belongs in the discussion for greatest player ever. 7 MVP's and the home run title put him there. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer despite all the "controversy" about steroids. Fact is, he never broke any of baseball's rules. The Steroid Era will just be another chapter in baseball's history, especially now that the alleged white knight to the home run title, Mr. Alex Rodriguez, has admitted to being on the juice as well.
too bad he had 500 plus homers before steroids. and it wasnt illegal during the time he was taking them. he would of broken the record anyways so take bud seligs dick out of your mouth and have your own opinion fag.
I just have a question. Remember what bonds looked like when he played for the pirates? he was pretty muscled up but not anymore than the average player. it was to long after he was traded that he got real big. so i think that he probably could have put alot of big numbers but i believe it had to do with some juice.
EXACTLY. He never violated the drug policy, and whether he took steroids or not, he still had to square up a baseball, which is possibly the hardest thing to do in all of sports. Probably the most talented player in the history of baseball
