@WorldsFinest20 it was because Eddie couldn't beat Rey. Chavo told Eddie that Rey was carrying them in the tag matches and that he couldn't beat Rey 1 on 1. At Wrestlemania they faced each other but Eddie lost. Then he started to chance a bit his personality week after week until this happened. Chavo and the fact that Eddie didn't hold a victory over Rey were the main factors why Eddie turned heel.
