Leno claims that he knows the history of the Tonight Show. If anything Conan knew it better than anyone. Hell during his run he wanted to have clips up online dating back to Steve Allen, which is brilliant. It helps fans see that this is truly a historic franchise. Leno's just an asshole who thinks he created the show.

Conan hosted undoubtfully the best Television program I've ever seen. Even though I'm French I watched that show during a 3-week vacation in the US and little did I know that this show was the best show. Conan has his own personality and humor that made him be one of the favorite famous and popular person according to the american audience. I didn't see much of that TV show but as I can see, I missed a lot of things... Too bad this show's now gone =(

When I saw the first two weeks of that show, however, I felt that he lost some of his edge from the Late Night show which led me to stop watching. So to see this, I can only say one thing: Why the hell did I stop watching!?

@janeway529 I would say actually its a testament to how disappointing Conan's tonight show was. Conan seemed to forget to do actual comedy the majority if the time and instead opted for large-scale unusual stunts. This highlight proves that. Lots of "real" stuff happening rather than skits.

Historically, the format of the Tonight Show is something very rigid and unchangeable - Act 1: Monologue, Act 2: Comedy Piece 1, Act 3: Comedy Piece 2, Act 4: Celebrity Guest 1, Act 5: Celebrity Guest 2, and Act 6: Musical Guest or Comedian. Towards the end of Conan's run as host, the attitude of "have fun" became the overriding principle and helped create some of the best television in late-night TV history.
