I know I'm biased but did the Emmy voters not see the work that RB did in 2002? Her scenes after Leo's death are still just as heart wrenching today as almost 10 yrs ago. When I first saw those scenes I had just found AMC and had only seen a few Greenleo scenes. Her scenes after his death were some of the first one's I'd seen and the way that she portrayed Greens tore my heart out. I don't think there have been very many other scenes in daytime to have that kind of effect. RB was robbed.

I really feel Robin Christopher should have won this... not only for the superlative work she put in during the 2001-03 period, but for adding layer upon layer to the tortured Skye, who always seemed like an outsider. It was a lovely twist to have her become best friends with Luke Spencer, who finally validated her. I do wish Robin had won the Emmy.

I was apalled last year when they awarded some rookie court show that just came out and was recently cancelled the Emmy Award as opposed to Judge Judy. Judge Judy has been on the air for 13 years and gets the highest ratings out of any other court show. Judge Judy's highly powerful, influential opinions and has been constantly asked to come on CNN to do interviews. Give Judge Judy a damn Daytime Emmy

VM asked for more money and a reduced work schedule, in fact she asked to make more than Tony Geary. ABC rightfully said no...now, if she asked for less work and to make $2,000 more a year, that I am sure would be reasonable but to make more than Geary? Totally ridiculous. That is what meant with how ABC treated her "badly" which I believe they did not. My source, who is 100% accurate on everything she tells me, said she only won because the judges felt sorry for her.
Deserved? She worked on the show for four months of the entire year. Everyone else was on for 12 months. And what tapes of hers looked Emmy worthy?! I recognize both the tapes she submitted. @travisj90 playing a character for a long time doesn't entitle one to an award. If that's the case, Drake Hogestyn or Ronn Moss(two of the worst actors ever!) deserve Emmys too!

@cajayson8301 you seem to be overlooking the fact that vanessa brought 800,000 viewers to GH when she returned. vanessa is daytime AND primetime gold, judging by her immense popularity on GH, 90210 and las vegas. tony geary is a great actor, but his return did not increase ratings as much and geary didn't have success outside GH. he may be daytime royalty, but vanessa is a star. besides, vanessa said her departure from GH was about wanting more time with her son.

It was Francesca James i think who said that Robin could easily have had a huge Hollywood career but by choice, wanted a more consistent lifestyle, which a soap character offers i guess. Robin just left soaps by choice and GH were apparently eager to keep her on. They never have her frontburner i think because they like to keep Skye 'mysterious', like Garbo, especially since her alcholism trials - thats my theory anyway,.

Robin Christopher really deserved to WIN the Emmy that year but Popularity won over Talent. Candy McClain did win the following year for Rosanna (04). I see why Robin didn't sign with GH, they weren't using her, and the character of Skye has over 20 years of history from AMC, OLTL and then GH.

It was Francesca James i think who said that Robin could easily have had a huge Hollywood career but by choice, wanted a more consistent lifestyle, which a soap character offers i guess. Robin just left soaps by choice and GH were apparently eager to keep her on. They never have her frontburner i think because they like to keep Skye 'mysterious', like Garbo, especially since her alcholism trials - thats my theory anyway,.

Let me say It is 2008, Please AMC, and GH, Please bring back both Dixie and Brenda to their respected fictional towns. Dixie must come back and Brenda is always going to be GH's top daytime characters. Dixie should be "home" again with Tad, JR, and Angie and Jesse, and Brenda, she should be "home" with Robin, Monica, Jason, and Brenda should renew her rivalry with Carly. Oooh, Please, AMC and GH, Bring back Both Soaring Female Characters.

the biggest robbery in Emmy history. Robin Christopher definitely deserved it. If not her, then Rebecca Budig. Vanessa only won because the judges felt sorry at the way ABC treated her. BS. They treated her just fine. She was the one who treated them like sh1t.

everytime i watch this clip im overwhelmed. i thought vanessa deserved the win, but i think she should have gotten a nomination during the 1997-98 yr. those were the times her acting truly blew me away. love how proud everyone was of her, especially ingo.

@crisp09 vanessa was nominated in both 1997 and 1998 and yes, those were good years. both noms are on youtube. but i thought her 2002-03 stint was incredible; every scene was spot on! she knew her character and hit every mark.

Vanessa deserved to win. That was her first time winning. If she had not returned, that season of GH would have never occured. Robin owes her a big thank you.

I have always thought Robin was a great actress. However, that particular year belonged to Vanessa. Robin should have already gotten an Emmy by then just like Denzel should have been on his 3rd Oscar by the time Training Day came around. So we can just agree to disagree.

I am happy that Vanessa won the Emmy. She is a great actress but Rebecca definitely deserved to win the Emmy more. The scenes before around and after Leo's death Rebecca was awesome and really shined as an actress

I guess the same can be said when Vanessa lost in 1996 to i think sara michelle gellar(?). Vanessa deserved it then and i am so glad she won it in 2003.

I like Vanessa Marcil, but I really believe that Robin Christopher was the best and was deprived of the Emmy she deserved. I think Vanessa won because she was the most popular actress in this category. Oh, well.....

Have to be biased as Cady McClain(Dixie) Robin Christopher(Skye),Rebecca Buddig(Greenlee), Linda Dano(Rae Cummings,Ske's mom.Cool as Linda Dano was on all 3 ABC soaps as the same character.) have all been All My Children girls so I thought at least one of them should win over (Vanessa)Brenda.Cady got it the next year but all are deserving. Vanessa left too quickly and not appreciative.lol
