Ichi and the new pets are not worth the running around, its best to buy them off another player. i have 2 pets...one is a level 12 horse and level 15 drake...those re the only pets i want..but if you want to collect others you can.....
Pets can't be stored. You need to find a Game Sage or somebody you trust 100% who can trade it across for you. If you play the USA version, the best place to find a Game Sage is to go to the Last Chaos section of the Aeria Games forums, and in the Shout Box on the far right hand side, ask if there are any Game Sages free to help with a pet trade.

animeluver, it's a special type of pet colour, It's very rarely in the item mall. its known as 'silverrose blue' or 'light blue.'
And by "the dungeon" I think you mean velpist temple in juno. There's an NPC in there (a weird book thingy at the very end of the temple) which you have to visit as part of the new pet quest.

You can do it really fast if you get plvl. If you grind, it can take up to a week.
