  • That guy was hilarious. This is great.

  • Hi Jason! Way to go! Your efforts and passion in the hobby are appreciated. What type of recording equipment did you use to record the sounds?

  • 4:23 ohh yeahh!!

  • Your dedication to authenticity and accuracy is beyond reproach. Hope this spurs even more companies to produce model railway locomotives and rolling stock to the exceptional standard for which you strive.

  • Hahaha, what an intro. Sounds so fun.

  • You got to that beautiful loco before it was too late. Pan Am has them now and they'd never let you do that.

  • Heh, Cort is a good guy... I will be working with him next year at CSRX.

  • which one is jason?

  • Both of these beautiful FP9's are now owned by PanAm Railways based in Billerica, Massachusetts.

  • @clank4001 Yeah... :/

  • Its true when they say duct tape can be used for everything :)

    Very nice!

  • Heyy, how about Green Mountain Railroad's ALCO RS1

  • There is no way in hell that I'm not getting one of these for VIA. I love F-Units.

  • Can you get an SD45 now?

  • Jason, you are a great modeler and a great compagny. I have just bought your CN 1961 N scale cars.

Do not forget the N scalers for locomotives and sound !

    Bernard - Quebec city

  • Awsome Jason, was really cool and loved the comady in it...great work looking forward to seeing more

  • Great!! Now record an F40PH!

  • @diburning yes that would be great!

  • Most sound decoders don't actually only reproduce the idle. He couldn't be farther off base about this.

  • Awesome Rapido~ I've been part of the museum crew operating BN-1 and BN-2 and the sound is so much different when the locomotives move as opposed to idling.

Great video. Duct Tape. Can't live without it :D

  • Excellent! 5*****!

  • So, what does a guy with 11 f units desperately need?? One more f unit!! one of these f units !!

  • @phibber you also need 13 b-units for extra power.

  • Does anyone have a paper towel? I need it to clean up my drool.

  • i hope when it is released, it will have working diaphragms--like on walthers proto 2000 f7a engines

  • Really looking forward to your FP9A model. The pictures of the model are beautiful. Love the detail you added under the model.

  • Can you offer the recordings for sale as mp3's?

  • I agree, those would be really cool to own.

  • Jason that video made me laugh the entire time... This is how you get the customers attention with funny and great explanation videos... Keep up the Good work...

  • Hahaha! Great video, kept me laughing!

  • I love #6505, But am more partial to #573.

  • I see an oscar nomination for this fantastic film. Great plot. Lots of action. Lots of laughter. Passable acting. All this in an obviously a low budget film. The screen text guy out shone the rest though.

Seriously, I enjoyed the presentation. At least I know the sound actaully comes from a real loco and how it was recorded. I also think Red Green would be proud to see another use for duct tape.

  • Jason why didn't you tell me you were over here!!! Coulda taken you for a motorcar ride on the CSRR's Mountain Division!

  • Clever ..... and we do appreciate the difference!

  • Very cool! I smiled & laughed the whole way through. Jason, you kept me entertained- 5:56 lol! I think this video inspired me to buy am A-B set, even though I sank $300 bucks into an F unit set last year, oh well, this one is better by far! :)

  • Great Video Jason, brings back memories running F units in northern Manitoba.

    MAP

  • What brand/model recorder did you guys use when doing this?

  • Nice video, Great Sound recording. It will be interesting to see what MRC can do to the sound. Nice looking F7 model.

If you were using a Sountraxx decoder, then we know it would be an accurate playback. We will soon see if MRC can rise above itself.

    Good Luck.

  • Awesome movie and product. I cannot wait to get my trainset. Keep up the good work.

  • I love the product! I love the hype, I love all the lightheartedness you folks put into your work, Jason, you are my hero!

  • That is amazing! I love 567s!

  • You dudes are totally off the hook! Without your insanity, we would not have such excellent products from Rapido. Love them FP 9A's. Keep tilting at windmills, but make sure you get a good recording when you do.

P.S. You just might be the first manufacturer in any scale to absolutely nail the elusive curves of the F Unit's windshield. Love the way you faired the headlight housing into the nose!

Now for the kicker: What'll it take to convince you to create all this beauty in N scale?

  • Fantastic, cannot wait to get an A&B set to pull my Rapido 1961 passenger cars!! You guy's at Rapido rock!

  • OMG, that was epic!

  • Awesome!

  • What would we do without duct tape...

  • Just awesome guys!

  • You guys are hilarious! I imagine the sound this FP9 is going to be some of the best ever recorded. Will you be offering sound decoders for sale seperately?

  • no, why ? this will be the most accurate sounding FP9 model EVER !

why would you want to install a crumby fake sound chip to it, the work is already done for you !

  • No, I'm talking about selling the FP9 sound decoder seperately so it could be installed in other locomotives like Athearn Genesis F units or anything else that uses the 567C prime mover.

  • oh okay !
