The work escapes them - they each might as well be playing two different concert halls . They don't understand the poetry of the work . Typical Russian virtuoso

performers where the instrument is dominant and the composition serves to

showcase their instrumental talents . They should try serving the music once

in a while .

There are here, on You Tube, many such performers - strong professionals, but not the geniuses. And they aren't Russians only.

So, what's the reason for yours notes about the Russians?

@MrNaciketas - Yes there are many - once you know the Russian violin school or method which is quite dominant here you understand the sameness of sound and approach to

playing the instrument - there are a few elegant and insightful Russian players, but that is because the further they got away from their beginnings the better they became .

Krylov being a prime example of escaping the method and showing himself to be

quite the artist who plays the violin .
