OMFG....that mare is BEAUTIFUL! And a picture of health and happiness, she's obviously a testiment to her owner, very well cared for and in superb condition! Wonderful to see some people still take time to work out the 'little' problems :)
WOW! What can I say to that comment other than a humble 'Thank You'.
Richard started this mare for me, she was BIG and completely out of control in her youth. Will all ways be thankful to RICHARD WINTERS for saving my life with her. Got her started, gave her rules, and got me ON her when no one else wanted to try.
Had the chance to take her to him again for a little more help with a 'problem' area. The mare respects and trusts Richard, you can clearly see that & we learned a lot that day.
That was probably Dave Thornberry out of Calabassas, CA. He is an amazing craftsman and made Richard's show chaps as well as many other competitiors in the arena!
Thanks for posting your Fly Spray Series! If I hadn't got all of mine dead broke to the bottle, I would post a video response. Maybe someone else will?
It's Patricia! Good Lord been a long time since we heard from you. Welcome back! Watched your clicker vids. That's good stuff you're doing there. Luv your swing up vid. Hehehe!
Fancy was tough w/spray. Didn't get the pic of her rearing when Richard first tried spray that day (wink). He knew she'd go UP.
Because of her I've learned a LOT. In many ways I'm thankful to her and all ways to Richard. He saved my life w/her. Started her and got me ON her when no one else wanted to try with her.
I used your experience today to help one of my students learn how to spray the mustangs. I had a lot of fun when one day in early summer, I just left instructions to spray them. I think they got about half of them actually sprayed. It gave us a great starting point to learn about horse focus and human body language. Your mare is a blessing. Sometimes a horse comes along that pushes you into a new learning curve. They might seem hard but they really provide an opportunity to develop.
Patricia have I told you how much I LIKE the way your MIND works? You are a BRILLIANT woman w/tons of HEART, my kinda person.
Lucky students! :~)
Yes, it takes a challenging animal 2 help people grow. All ways loved this mare & she would scare me badly. But refused 2 give up on her. I had created the 'monster' by not staying on top of poor behavior when she was a baby. Was my DUTY 2 fix early errors, would have been EASY 2 quit. Had offers for her but couldn't do that in good conscience.
U saw my work with the same mare using conventional methods in my earlier vid. Amazing difference the correct approach made! All I could do was SMILE. So MUCH to LEARN. That's the fun part... the learning. :~)
LOL. Loved the video. Yeah, most "problem horses" aren't the problem, it's the problem people that are problematic and probably making the horse think about punting the problem person in the patoot.
I KNOW! Me's jealous the way Fancy looks at Richard. Me said, "Fancy sez: Oh No, NOT Richard." Richard said, "Are u kidding, she LOVES me." He started her, gave her purpose & a life. Where me was gonna get hurt by her. Bless his heart. She does love him for it. Horses are so SMART, at least this one is. :~)

OMGosh! It's the WIFE!
LOL
Helloooo Cheryl Winters. :~)
Did Judd Miller make custom chaps for some of the 'other' big name trainers out there?
Seems like I saw a booth at an event not long ago, with a 'real cowboy' looking gentleman there. He had some beautiful samples of his work.
Could that have been 'JUDD MILLER'?
He sure does some beautiful leather creations.
Thanks for stopping by.
You made my day. Big SMILE!

Hey I am curious, does Richard have a brand on his cheek? From hot tongs?
devorahterry 2 years ago
Devorahterry... I have NO idea what that means... but play NICE over here okay.
Don't think it's good, where this question is leading.... So BE COOL.
You're addressing a big believer in Richard Winters and I happen to RESPECT and LIKE his FAMILY very much.
Lighten up there girl.
Thank You!

Thank You!
'Fancy' was a PMU foal we purchased sight unseen in 2002 from Canada. We were really happy with what we got when she arrived in California.
She's by a beautiful registered black Percheron and out of a leopard Appaloosa mare. Made for a good combination we think.
Thanks again for watching and for the kind words. :~)

But, okay, those ARE some handsome, nice fitting CHAPS. I wonder where Richard bought those chaps?
