We don´t know the origins of the Assassins unlike the Templars. Cain was the first Templar he killed Abel to steal his Apple of Eden. But we do know the Assassins existed as long as the Templars I believe the Assassins formed around this time.

@eleod113 Genetically, they come from the First Civilization- That is, the First Civilization and human blood runs through certain assassins such as Altair, Ezio, and Desmond. It's very rare.

The organization itself probably formed sometime before the death of christ, evidenced with a few well known Assassins of old. In reality, they're based of the Hashashins of Masyaf during the real-life Crusades, albeit AC's assassins exist in time periods far before the Hashashins.

This is, by far, the best song in the game. It's literally an orchestral masterpiece. I'd like to hear it with a larger orchestra. This song evokes more emotion than any other in the entire game. Possibly in the entire series.
