The constitution never said you can only have a gun if your government says you can. But then again some people are just fucking idiots and should not have guns.
It's not about whether you see something wrong or not, it's about whether tax dollars, law enforcement and immense government bureaucracy should be directed at a system that just doesn't work. If the idea was to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and mentally unstable people, then they get an F, as in FAIL. If they want to promote something that actually works, not something just generates forms, fees and red tape, then I would support it. Unproductive, worthless propaganda solves nothing
What a completely useless piece of government propaganda. Most criminals use stolen guns to commit crimes. Background check systems only work for law abiding citizens who voluntarily participate in the process. And even then, the effectiveness of the system is entirely questionable. It didn't prevent Columbine, didn't prevent Virginia Tech, and didn't keep Jared Loughner from getting a gun.
I don`t see anything wrong with the background check, it makes sense to me and doesn`t bother me. Sure shit still happens, but it doesn`t mean the system is not working. Nothing is perfect.
when you say that customers carrying a valid firearms permit don't require an additional background check are you referring to Concealed weapon permit or license?
