Sorry to hear you had a vtx lemon, I've had my vstar for three years now and only had to replace parts that wear (tires breaks oil etc). My friend who got his Softtail the same year, has already rebuilt the trans, top end and now needs motor mounts, So it looks like to me that HD fall apart alot faster then metrics, they shake themselves apart. I have ridden a HD, I wasn't impressed, for all the hype, it was the same as my Vstar. As for the "Too big" comment, I'm 6'4" 240lbs, I can handle a HD.
I've got the '08 version and I was thinking about "bobbing" mine out. What mods did you do ? I can see you chopped the back fender and removed the front, but what else have you done? If you don't mind, it looks great!! Thanks

oh..and by the way...I don't think people are trying to make their bikes look like harleys...ha ha ha....They just want to customize their bikes just like HD owners do...I know a lot of HD owners that are always modifying, chopping, changing..unchanging their bikes.

This is for all yoy Fng HD retards HDs are NOT and I repeat NOT USA made anymore the parts are sent here to the USA to be put together all bike are made over seas except maybe the Victory. So get over yourself. As long as you ride who cares what it is.

Can't we all just stop bitching about harley vs metric? And most of all STOP FUCKING BITCHING ABOUT HARLEY OWNERS! I own a chopped 1979 Ironhead, a 2001 V-Star Custom, and a 2007 Street Glide, and i appreciate all of them and put more miles on each one of those a year themselves than i've seen most riders put on their one bike whether Harley or Metric. So if ya don't like metric don't look at em, don't like harley don't look at em. RIDE WHAT YOU RIDE AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Harley riders can't help being mentally challanged, I would be too if we had to deal with the frustration of constantly fixing a $30000 bike and watch some guy ride by on their Metric, that looks just like his bike, sounds like his bike but costs 1/3 as much to own and maintain.
Harley owners are brainwashed into thinkin their bikes are the best, and its true they were but that time is gone, now they are just another bike, only way over priced.

First of all, I couldn't care less about your American history! Second I don't think I ride a HD, in fact I thank god everynight theres a Vstar in my garage and not a Harley. He probably got the idea from an Indian, BSA, Triumph, or even a Norton, which where all popular bobber candidates. Harley builds bigger bikes out of necessity, cause the average american is a porker. As for better, thats a stretch. As for the HD under 10k, its a sporters 883, might as well be a moped.

Dalaigh, I had a vtx1300.. paid 8200 for it and two years later begged someone to buy it at 3000.. why is that you might ask oh because metrics while in fact while they have there place.. It's just no where in the good resale section of KBB .. Well that's weird I can't imagine why that is ...oh lol that is because they're falling apart at a disgusting rate that are cheap to buy because there built out of cheap shit.. run your mouth to an hd dealer and educate yourself with a test ride. Too big??

Sorry to hear you had a vtx lemon, I've had my vstar for three years now and only had to replace parts that wear (tires breaks oil etc). My friend who got his Softtail the same year, has already rebuilt the trans, top end and now needs motor mounts, So it looks like to me that HD fall apart alot faster then metrics, they shake themselves apart. I have ridden a HD, I wasn't impressed, for all the hype, it was the same as my Vstar. As for the "Too big" comment, I'm 6'4" 240lbs, I can handle a HD.

that was probably a rhetorical question, but i'm gonna pitch in my $0.02 anyway :) black apes would be just awesome. imHo, no bobber is complete without a springer seat. When i eventually do mine i plan to add a springer front end too.
do you really have 4 kids? i have 3 little guys myself and they really get a kick when i ride next to them in the odyssey.
