So is the motor only attached to the transmission by your custom plate? Or do you have to bolt it to the car itself too?

@ danieldiasmauro: Yes, it's a standard gearbox, and as such, needs oil (or the synthetic equalivalent of!). As the electric motor I'm running is dsigned for this sort of weight, it's not going to overstress or heat up the gearbox either.

Hey AlamoCityCello, I've explained pretty clearly in the ep3 exactly what I'm doing about batteries, and where I'm putting 'em! Go have a look at ep 3....

Not to pee-pee on your parade, but where are you going to put the batteries? A laditudally motor, (ie BMW or some VWs), will allow batts over the motor. Given your space/weight, 12v flooded batteries are the way to go.

If your a rich man, do lithiums and a Zilla HV. If you're like me, floodies are in your furture. Keep going brother!
