Fixing A Zune Audio Jack

@TOOOOOxFADED Totally, I surprised myself with how easy the fix is. It probably would have made a lot of people buy new ones when theirs can work perfectly normal. I did some math, if 4k of the 4239 viewers of this video would have bought a new MP3 player at 200$ a pop (which is a pretty cheap mp3 player price), it would have accumulated to $800,000!!! All of that money that could have been saved for a crappy bread clip on a dollar loaf, my mind is just blown.

Now THAT is mind blowing! you also have to take into account the people that would have actually paid to get it fixed professionally. I fixed a few Sansa Clips with:tape,lined paper,a rubber band,and a rubber band used for braces.It's scary fiddling with $200 equipment though.

@demonwolfie Someone said they used the small clip that comes on bags of bread. Really anything that is plastic and thin will work.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! I was coming in from kayaking and turned over -I was a little too forceful trying to save my zune from drowning and I messed up the headphone jack. I did this tonight using some plastic folder and it worked great, thanks.

Oops. @guitar7ify, i wish i could say yes but i have no idea. i would asuke no but hey, when i tried this my warranty was up so i had nothing to lose in playong with the insides. You could always test it out.

Thanks so much, my headphone jack only worked on the right side and i looked up parts and did videos and saw this and helped me out so much, now i don't have to buy a part or switch to a different Zune.

I had the same Problem w. my zune for the past few months. Your vid. def. helped but once i had it open putting something inbetween the jack and metal didn't really help. I did notice though, that there are little metal tab like punchouts on the left side of the jack and pushing on them made my audio come in both buds. So I just took my screwdriver and pushed them in further and I havent had a problem so far..Hope it helps. Great vid.

Oh my goodness, I love you!!! Thanks soo much!! Now on the bus I can stop being selfish with my Zune and can now share it with someone else, now that both headphones work!! :) You just saved me grief! :) (I didn't have a guitar pick handy, so I folded a teeny piece of cardstock paper in half and shoved it in there!! :]) Thanks a million!!

sadly though mine was harder to fix. i had to use a toothpick and jam it in between the green thing and the front of the zune. but thanks for showing me how to open it and suchness :] you saved my zune from being thrown at the wall
