@mustafahotaki Yes, it might be one of the minorly spoken languages of India "for ages", as you said. However, I might remind you not to say it is India's language, as you probably are aware, however for others we should not send the wrong message. Farsi has a much larger part in Urdu than in Hindi, and Farsi is Persian, originated and, majorly, spoken in Persia.
the song is really very beatiful. please don't fight over the language. for me, the words in this song is either hindi or urdu. i can't recognise the arabic and farsi words. apart from hidi words every other word is urdu for me. but urdu is really very beautiful language. but i can tell one thing, that words here may be are of any language, but the base is hindi. i mean the grammer here is hindi. i know about it because i've read it and i also have got canned for not remembering it.
all you idots urdu in fact is a mixture of all the languages so its urdu words which come from farsi and arabic think about it all you thick self hating crazy south asains
@KillinDaWelfareMCs It is no problem, keeping track of etymology adds to the sophistication of a language. Why do you think Urdu stands out from other South Asian languages?
i am not commented this 50% matter, who said ask him, your post intimation is reflected in my mail inbox so i replying you, this song is mix of hindi, farci and arebic words, and song style is like a pathan style, in movie song pictured in hindu family, in movie singer is also hindu what to do ?, there target is making money, nice song urn money no doubt....
Zohra also means blossoming or blooming in arabic. Also I would not go as far to say 60-70% farsi vocab is arabic. Yes of course there is a lot of influence of arabic on farsi. Though Id say farsi is still more beautiful of a language than arabic.
i disagree, arabic is by far the richest language, which makes it more beautiful.. it has a harmony which allows the change of sound which makes it nice to listen to, and its more describitive as there r many synonyms describing one thing, such as love, where there is, ishq, gharam, hayam, hub, mawada, taym, siba, all love, but different amounts of it..
Well that would be your opinion at the end. I find arabics harsh sounds not really beautiful. contrary to that Persian is much sweeter to ears. It was the language of the royal courts for a reason.
Arabic was the language of many more royal courts and for much longer than Farsi. Even within Iran only 50-51% are native Farsi speakers. Whereas Arabic is spoken from the Strait of Gibraltar to Ahwaz in Iran and it has been the court language in every single country in that expanse.
As the Prophet of Islam said: 'ahibbu al-araba lithalAthin: li'ani arabiyuun, wa al-qur'anu arabiyuun, wa kalamu ahli' al-jinnati arabiyuun !
u sure have the right to love whatever language u wish to, but languages such as farsi, urdu, turkish etc are all mixes of everywhere and all very much influenced by arabic, as arabic is the richest one of all the semetic languages, which are pure languages no mixes, and the most used one aswell. as for farsi sounding better, thats between u n ur ears mate lol i can argue about that u should have the right to find it nice, i on the other hand dislike it as i find it very sweet to be used by men.
I am merely playing devil's advocate here. I simply disagreed with your contention that Farsi has some special claim to be a 'court language'. Well, that's a historically untenable claim.
As far as your subjective liking to Farsi is concerned, you are most welcome to it.
who dislikes farsi? who can dislike it? it is one of most poetical and classical languages on earth, sound much more beautiful than arabic and it is vocabulary mother of urdu. if one doesn't like hindi/sanskrit and farsi, how can he ever say: he likes urdu? urdu is just a daughter of these languages.

This argument seems like the one in sixth grade "My dad is taller than your dad" :-) so you love Arabic, I love Persian.
And I really dont care about this saying. I dont really believe in stuff like this.

IT was a court language in India...when the mughals ruled.

@ipfcsnobs You are welcome to your subjective dislike for Farsi, however what makes Urdu a beautiful language is a tiny reflection of Farsi.

who says: people speak arabic in heaven? i don't think heaven people would sound that bad, they would sound sweet and beautiful. :)
qu'ran is in arabic because that's what muhammad used to speak.
i respect arabic because of its standard, classical and liguistical class.

The Farsi lexicon is about 50% of Arabic origin.
afghanforlife 2 years ago
But one thing is for sure. Farsi overtook Arabic as an incomparable vehicle for poetry very early on.
The best poetry ever devised by man is in Farsi.
