My comment was not to suggest that the majority of abortions are done for concern of the mother's health. My point was that the illegal, back alley abortions done in Pre-RvW states were extremely dangerous to the mother. I acknowledge that abortions are going to happen both legally and illegally and as such I would prefer for abortions that do happen to be done as safely as possible. That said, I think we need to address the social problems that necessitate abortions in the first place.

You seem to completely disregard the fact that abortions were happening illegally in many states before Roe V. Wade. Furthermore, many of these abortions were excessively dangerous to the mother. I would rather abortions be available in a relatively safe environment with trained medical personnel performing the procedures. I would rather lose 1 life then both. What makes you think that criminalization would stop abortions from happening?

Those things being said, however. I admit it's easy for a GUY like me to have an opinion on something that I don't physically have to go through. Yes, I'm aware it's complex. But if we must take any group's right to life away, let's start with child molesters, serial rapists, violent criminals, and serial killers. I appreciate your thought, however, don't get drawn in by the myth. You don't have to go through what another does EXACTLY to have an opinion. I mean, you can't go through what the unborn do either. You have to do away with the assumption that the woman's experience is any more important than the child's. This is a lie. Also, you shouldn't "start" with the extreme situations you mention. In the abortion discussion, this should be the last things brought up b/c most abortions are out of vanity.

If mothers are forced to have an unwanted child it's simply because children don't "belong" to their parents. They are human beings with their own rights to live. Just because they are weak & easy to kill doesn't make them property of their parents. And no child should be forced info an unwanted family. There are plenty of people wanting to adapt. Women who have kids that weren't planned and give them up to adoption are heroes in my opinion because they aren't killing out of selfishness or fear.

Poverty is not the only reason for abortion! Sometimes the mother's health can be in danger if she doesn't abort or the child may have a deformity/disability detected in the womb, abortion is 100% acceptable and legal. Families who earn in excess of 30K a year pay the living costs of poor women who decide to have lots of kids they cannot afford. At least if I have kids they will be raised by me and not by the state! Private school kids aren't stupid enough to have kids so young.

Adoption is better if more people could do so. For a few thousand kids thats fine, but IF abortion were stopped we could have one MILLION kids up for adoption EVERY year. If I'm not mistaken, there has been a case study showing that teenagers as well as adults who practice abstinence are just as likely to have sex than those that don't practice abstinence at all.

God gave us the ability to make choices; people who abort must live with their choices. It is not up to us to judge them. Anti-abortionists are so hypocritical; they support the death penalty and protest Roe v Wade. Those of us who support Roe v Wade do not necessarily approve of abortion. We support the legalization so people who choose to abort can do so in a sterilized, medical environment. Conservatives, moderates, and liberals WILL abort w/or w/o Roe v Wade and you know it.

Yes, He gave us free will to choose either right or wrong. But just because He gave us free will, it doesnt make the "wrong" that someone chooses "right." If they choose the wrong path, there will be consequences for that particular action. He gave us free will because He doesnt want us to act as robots. He wants us to do the right thing because we want to, not because we have to. He wants us to use our heart and love Him. Part of loving Him is obeying His laws.

Abortion has never been an issue in human history or any of its religions until the last few decades. Prohibiting it is not one of the Ten Commandments. Jesus never spoke about it. The Bible hardly mentions it. Abortion has always been part of the human story. Something like 70% of all conceptions naturally abort anyway.

Thats just it Americas problem is that people have told God to get lost. They dont want Him in their lives. Therefore, because God gives us free will and doesnt force Himself upon us, He said "OK. I will get lost" And now we have to face many bad things in this world that God could of helped us with before we told Him to get lost. Why do you think so many bad things are happening?
