  • yes john cares about the doors he is doing what jim wanted hes not bitter the music is suppose to be sacred jim wasnt a sellout neither was densmore ray is just money hungry robbie is a follower who cant say no to ray if jim was here this wouldnt be going on he wouldnt allow it either and yes i agree love was a great band jim thought the world of arthur lee and he did them too he helped the doors and the doors movie is very wrong jim would have never allowed that movie rip jim and pam

  • Do not forget Manzarek he was more talented than Densemore in my opinion and also has very good things to say about Love, all the doors cite love as a huge influence and after all it was Arthur that got them a record deal.

  • When will love be inducted?

  • Funny that the one member of The Doors that was at odds with Morrison the most is the only one keeping the band sacred.. Densmore is righteous.

  • Maybe somebody should have stepped in and stopped that abortion of a project called the 21st centrury doors. Fuck that. This guy was there, he does not have to explain shit to you jerkoff63.

  • this dude is a bitter mtf its not hard to tell he tried to put a stop to ray an robbie from recreating the doors 21st century i think but imagine that shit this prick also didnt show up when they got their star walk f fame mtf

  • By the`way, everyone-Arthur Lee got the Doors their contract with Elektra...

  • You need to tell us who is Bill Loyer. I am convinced without a shadow of a doubt that it is Jim Morrison formerly of the DOORS. People have been begging for an answer but the DOORS totally avoid it. I have a dream that Ray, Robbie and John will end up in prison.

  • Densmore wants no more Doors music in '09. Morrison would be proud to see a Vedder led band tear up 2 hours of his lyrics night after night.

  • bullshit.

Jim would be right there with John, keeep the music sacred. It's the only thing left of the real doors. SO why get some dipshit singer who has no soul singing the songs?

  • densmore seems kool and ray robbie seems tense stuborn

  • Love is SUCH an under-rated band.

  • DA SHIT IS BANANAS. B A EN A EN A NA

  • omg omg omg

  • Happy Birthday John! Great man!

  • To me John Densmore is one of the few people from his generation that didn't sell out. I'm impressed with him all the time. He recently produced the movie Juvies about the corrupt, unconstitutional and horrific civil rights abuses going on against kids in the Juvenile Justice system. He raises hell every time they want to used Doors songs for commercials because what the doors did "was sacred to him." Nice to know that all this lofty talk about a better world was real to someone. Thanks John.

  • i agree...

  • I agree!!!

  • I totally agree with you! I am a huge Doors fan and I really, really like John so much. He is a great drummer (I really think very underrated) and I great man! I didn't know about him producing the movie, thanks for that info!

  • Funny how you say ''he never sells out'' yet he is currently producing a movie. LOL WTF?!?!?

  • @black1582 on the commercials bit, he'd rather just not see Jim wake from the dead and throw another tv across the room..(:

  • Grande batterista!!!!!!!! il mio preferito!!!!

  • Jim was dead "Snotrag" sorry he couldn't make the interview!? PEACE...D.

  • I never understood how anyone can compare musicians or any artists like they're sports stars with point stats. John Densmore was incredibly musical and dynamic. Not the greatest foot tecnique, but certainly a strong 25% of the band. They all have contributed a to making a unique American sound. Either way,he and the Doors are immortatlized as a great band.

  • i beg to differ, he enhanced the band's sound... he knew when to throw in shit and he knew when to leave it out...

  • zoso you are an idiot!! densmore is a gut that was medeocre and lucky they kept him i play and he never did anything nearly technical all easy shit to compare with jb is a sin you idiot

  • He is a very wonderful drummer. He is still an evolving artist and drummer.

  • he's talking about "Them".

  • Thank you. Judging from the title, I thought he was going to be dicussing the Ryan O'Neal/Ali McGraw film. Kidding!

Them was a racially mixed group though? Didn't know that.

  • he talking about Love- Arthur Lee's band. You should know them, they got the Doors signed

  • john was/is pro, john bonam however is king but john densmore is king in a different rock style that his formula and musical syle is way different than led zeppelin densmores first love is the drums cause he plays so perfect .

  • Shut up.

  • John Densmore is one of the most underrated percussionists of all time. In fact, the only drummer to match him from this era is John Bonham. Bonham is a god, immortalized by his amazing abilities, but Densmore had this gifted talent to improvise Jim's poetic whims. His ability to do this sets him apart from any other drummer, from any era. Not much of a drum set either, but with this talent who needs a Neil Peart 729-piece drum kit? Densmore is God!!

  • OMG, YES! Kenny's IMPRESSIVE bass playing really helps to make "My Little Red Book" really SHINE! :)

  • I think his bass playing for the first album was solid, but not great. He really got good on De Capo and Froever Changes. It is kind of like listening to Chris Hillman. Both were just solid for the first album. Chris Hillman, like Kenny Forssi, got better after the first album and really shines on Younger and Notorious. Two of my favorite bass players of that era along with Paul McCartney that's for sure.

  • the best drummer right here. The Doors and Love where the best bands to come out of LA in the 60s. Man, rock music was so much better then.

  • I agree; the Byrds as well.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to mention The Byrds. I saw Roger Mcguinn play in Colorado once. He puts on a good concert. I love The Byrds and The Burrito Brothers. In fact, some of my favorite records are The Notorious Byrd Brothers (so many good songs on that one) Younger Than Yesterday, and The Burrito's first album. I also dig 5D. Thanks for the reminder. The three greatest bands. Four if you want to include Guns & Roses.

  • Have you ever heard Captain Beefheart's 'Safe as Milk'? LA band from '67. Guarantee you'll like it.

  • I forgot about him, too. I've only heard a couple of things by him that a friend burned for me back in 2001. I'm only 29 and beleive it or not I never got on the Internet until 2002 and he burned me a CD which I thought was weird because I was so use to getting tapes from people and didn't know you could burn CDs. I still have it. But, now I can go to places like Amazon and find stuff like that. I'll check it out. Thanks.

  • To this day John remains one of THE BEST drummers in the history of Rock! His jazz background allowed him an AMAZING ability to improvise and great sensitivity in his playing. SOO SAD he has suffered such a terrible hearing loss! :(

  • He is definately a favorite drummer of mine. He had great sense of drumming to enhance the music and Jim Morrison's vocal. John Densmore worked with Kellie Ali on her solo album after she left the Sneaker Pimps although I've never heard any of her solo stuff. I think the second drummer for Love (George something I think) was Love's best drummer. Better than Mike Stuart or Snoopy. I think the most underrated member of Love was Kenny the first bass player.

  • awesome.
