  • lukedallert no shit sherlock

  • I'd rather have Frank's guitar skill than Bill Gates money. All the money in the world couldn't buy you that skill and feel.

  • @EtherealSunrise So true...

  • im watching a genious.

  • A little bit less than two minutes in total, but he actually ended at exactly 2:00 into the video. xD

PS I really don't care that it wasn't two minutes, I was just making an observation. :p

  • @ubernaffa

Maybe he knew this clip was destined for youtube ? :)

  • Grandioses Gitarrenspiel super, super, super.

    Bert

  • He played this when I saw him with my granddad in Fayettville about a month ago. Last concert he saw :/

  • I just saw this guy perform with Tommy Emmanuel last night. Frank was the opening act, but he and Tommy (and his friend Vinny) did about a half hour together at the end of the show. Absolutely amazing; go see this guy if you get the chance!

  • @fingerstalking Saw him at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta last Saturday night with Tommy. Sounds like they did the same show. Frank is awesome. So was Tommy. Together, what a pair. 10 tons of talent on stage having a good time with each other.

  • hey! where is his five dollars????

  • does anyone know what guitar frank is playing here? thank you!

  • @trafficjuzz it was actually a guitar that was made for him personally, but neways it made by Benedetto, now i know they are known for their pickups, but hey what ya gonna do when someone says "ok frank i got an idea for a guitar for you" an dteh rest they say is history!!!

  • I'm loving this jazzy take really brings the life out of this wonderful piece. Well done Mr Gates...hehehe just kidding. :)

  • He's lucky he only bet $5

  • Tommy emanuell will play bass with his thumb while playing this song. I seen him do it live too.

  • he can outshred 99% of guitarists.. on acoustic sound. great arrangement btw. it doesn't sound shallow, even though it's a solo guitar.

  • I saw him playing live today :D

  • HAHA that is my uncle :)

  • REALLY??!! *O*

  • Can sy tell me what chords he was playing at 1:23 -1:26? THX

  • It goes to the parallel major -- A major, that is. The song starts in A minor, part two is in C major, and part three in A major. There are several great renditions of tico tico on the tube. I heard Frank do this as a solo piece up at the Strawberry Music Fest in 2004. I swear he tore it up for about five minutes -- solo. He's so great and a super nice guy. He didn't even get pissed when that stupid announcer offered him the five bucks.

  • What brand guitar is he playing?

  • Benedetto, I presume.

  • What a great player.

  • I went to music school with Frank. He's been that good since he was a teenager!

  • what's with the commentator..5 bucks? So degrading...

  • yeah degrading indeed...

but he did play it! never saw the 5 bucks though LOL

  • frank is just great!

btw: i wish tommy emmanuel would be the host at woodsongs, that would be cool :)

  • Awesome plectrum style rendition!

  • awesome

  • this guy is increadible!

  • This guy played with Leon Redbone back in the 70's. Take a look at Shine on,Harvest Moon by Leon Redbone on yourtube.

  • this guy was born in 1965...maybe it wasn't him?

  • He played 'Shine On, Harvest Moon' with leon redbone. I see the video has been removed from youtube. This guy is an awsome player.

  • I love MARIVIC ECLE!

  • that benedetto tone great.

  • Nice Woodsongs clip, Kalbi. That's some fancy pickin'. I hope you asked Micheal Jonathon for permission to post this. I've heard he has NY mafia connections. But then again, he couldn't do anything worse to you then making you sit through his awful singing every week.

  • Frank,

    You're hot!!!

    Dave Marty

  • he almost looks like bill gates

  • You are right!

  • Frank Vignola is a great guitarist!

  • amazing and wonderful

  • It's self-defeating to compare like with like. This guy is just damn good musically, and so precise. What more d'you want?

  • This is a Brazilian Tune. A choro called :

    Tico-Tico no Fuba ; :D

  • he was real quick to play that for 5 bucks ha

  • God damn his picking technique is IMMACULATE.

  • What kind of guitar is he playing?

  • Benedetto, those things range from 3,000? to 25,000.

  • Vignola is the man... modern jazz Django

  • wow bill gates can shred

  • exactly what i was thinking

  • Jamie the original song is said to be from the brazilian Zequinha Abreu, buut a friend told me some really older one did it before I don't know

  • Wow, like watching a dark haired Pat Metheny.

No thanks. I'll go put on some Joe Pass now.
