During a class to certify volunteers in oiled bird cleaning techniques, microbes are tested side by side with the conventional process that utilizes 'Dawn' liquid soap. The test yields truly promising results, as cleaning time is cut dramatically and waste concerns are all but eliminated.
This very much looks like a video of a TRAINING to me. (I will verify.)
Lee Fox of Save Our Seabirds in Sarasota is world-renown and respected for her oiled-bird rehabilitation expertise and oil spill contingency planning. I used to volunteer with her, in regular wild-bird rehab, when she was still based in Tierra Verde.
Are they washing corpses? Never saw a live bird in this video or something close to a reconverted one. And as a last comment, what a scandalous crew around a creature that is suffering such stressful situation. (in case they are alive.)
Verified: This is a TRAINING.

The first two birds did look very bad. Starting at 22 seconds there was a bird that looked very healthy to me.
I'd say the crew was doing what they could for the birds brought to them.
