It's not out of character at all. Brooke has matured like the rest of the characters, and she has decided to put petty arguments to bed. BL had other problems in there relationship aside from all the Peyton drama, it didnt work then and it wouldnt work now. Brooke has a great heart, she loves Peyton and she wants her to be happy. She faced up to Peyton and Lucas being together a long time ago. Just because she's being honest doesnt mean shes betraying herself.

Brucus was cute, but this is four years later. That's a long time. And if you think about it realistically they probably both felt their relationship was just a high school thing. And how awkward would that be for them in real life to play a couple on tv? That's just fucked up.

She isnt telling her to go cheat, she doesnt tell her to kiss him or have wild crazy sex with him in her office.
She says "Go get your man" meaning go to him, tell him how you feel and that he's the reason your here.
