  • Kill the torch... or just kick it in the face.

  • It was chasing the diver's flashlight. That's also how Octopus and Squid fishing works, with big light sources by night.

  • HES IS IN LOVE ;)

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • of how adorable of how they swim.

just makes this video much more precious

  • it looked like it was trying to get the thing in the divers hand

  • The Monarch: Give us the cuttlefish!

  • Zoidberg in his teenage years.

  • I don't get it. Are they poisonous? Dangerous?

  • Comment removed

  • @nosepilot44 The only known venomous cuttlefish is The Flamboyant Cuttlefish, otherwise they are very delicious :))

Big ones can attack divers (just like octopus & squid), they are only feared for their nasty bite from their parrot like beak.

  • Let's not, dear friends, forget our dear friends the cuttlefish.

-Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

  • "SHOULD I EAT A CUDDLEFISH AND ASPARGUS OR VANIRRA PASTE UH ?"

    I recommend this video:

    Diving in Bishop Harbor

  • i want this pokemon

  • It can tell when something is disturbing their timely ability to find a mate. They don't know why they do it; they just feel they must do it.

  • attack the light on his hand and not attack the diver

  • KNEE KICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it wasnt agressive,,cuttlefish are very sensitive to light variations, it was attacking the light ,n ot the diver. that why they are so easy to catch ''on the lamp'' as we say. read up...

  • oh yea...that jellly like thing is real deadly!

  • @Marcuslusus02 that sob can bite like no other they have a huge beak that can take a hell of a chunk out of ya.

  • @XjerichoX12 it was a female diver.

  • it went after the flash light thought it was food.

  • i agree babe4fish13, but there are some good dive story sites on the net too. Try the myscubastory site. They have real life dive stories and dive accident videos. Put myscubastory into google, and its the first result.

  • oishi

  • That scuba diver must be a physicist.

  • kick that fucker!

  • With what arms?

  • It just wanted a hug.

  • They are scary, I am a diver and seen this before (on Inet). Those ones are always really aggressive and I don't want their beak to bite me.

  • @RockTheOcean4me I find they only appear aggressive around April - when breeding season is about - they die not long after, so I can see why they are cranky :)

  • @dakuwanga

Have you seen 'm ? I hardly have any knowledge about them, just the vids I saw.

I am out of the water at first sight though, even in december :-)

  • I would have petted it!

  • ITS SO FLUFFYYYYYY

  • Omg! O_o! Its kinda scary.. O.o

  • I will never ever ever ever ever ever get in the ocean. Ever.

  • he stole the light ?

    those things are intelligent .

  • It's got to be an "ATTACK" in order to be interesting to most of us silly stupid humans. Is it possible that the Cuttle fish was simply INTERESTED in the diver or wanted to play or as dakuwanga surmises confused his flippers for something else. We're doomed as a species because of our fears. I say GOOD. Let mother earth heal from all we have done.

  • @appetitefordynamite This, i could not agree more.

  • How much damage can they actually do? Even the biggest one I ever saw looked pretty helpless next to the divers examining it.

  • underneath those nice squishy legs is a beak that could snap your finger or take a nice little bite size out of your leg. Not to be underestimated.

  • @MrAdventureguru I knew that much, but not toxic though... And not capable of delivering a lethal attack, outside extraordinary circumstances anyway,

  • VANILLA PASTE

  • U mean tiny pwny cuttlefish attacks a big diver

  • oooooo scary...

  • Vanilla paste! Vanilla paste!

  • scuba steve!

  • If I must tear you apart, Shepard, I will.

  • @RXdash78 ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL *takes control of diver*

  • did you just kill it?

  • even when their pissed off their still cute as!

  • We must not, dear friends, forget our dear friends, the Cuttlefish...

  • so what big deal, fart

  • AHHHHHH

  • lol all the other fish gatherd around the Cuttelfish like it's the man after it had a go at the diver and the diver shit herself....

  • fish: hey look a diver

diver: no no no no no nooo!

    DEAD XD like cleveland

  • Dawwwww.

  • i think he did not want to attack the diver , because of there intelligence they try to figure out what he is. there always touching and know he knows that divers try to kick him so he stays away xD at least thats my opinion

  • To cute

  • Does she even know how to swim?! Her legs weren't paddling!! It was straight all along!! Stubborn ass!

  • LOL hit it with the flashlight!

  • it just wants to cuddle!

  • @sepehrsb awww LOL

  • "He's swimming in your windows. Snatching your people up. You need to hide your kids! Hide your wife! Hide your kids! Hide your wife! And hide your husbands, 'cause he's tentacle-raping everybody out there!"

  • It was the light

  • serves the guy right for wearing split fins!

  • One kick and it's running, no backbone the damn fish.

Get it? no backbone? because it's an invertebra- ah forget it.

  • all that cuttlefish wanted was to get lucky !

  • Elegant propulsion system that of the cuttlefish 0:14

  • poor cuttlefishes, just when they get a exclusive look on to our technology, they get a critical DENY....one day, i'll go scuba and just for the hell of it, i'll give something high tech, waterproof, and cool, that way that one cuttlefish can rub it in the other cuttles' faces.

  • yes mizmaringirl5 but there also good dive stories to be found on the net - try the myscubastory site ... type myscubastory into google - its the first one i think

  • Whoa, at the end all the small fishes are tryin' to calm him down, sweet : )

  • i nce got thrown out of an aquariem because of a fucking cuttlefish, im going to punch one in it gros sticky head one day

  • @theothersituation wait, how did the cuttlefish cause you to get thrown out? i wanna know this story.

  • @MeLikeyHitStuff it inked in my direction and started flahsing colors so i started screaming and banging on the tank and secerity bANned me from the premisis

  • @theothersituation ... I hope you realize you were the one at fault. The cuttlefish got spooked for whatever reason and inked because of it, feeling threatened. So no, it was not the cuttlefish's fault, it was yours.

  • @nightmarexbat are you calling the cuttlefish stupid, we dont no how animals think it could have been like wtf is this bitch doing

  • @theothersituation *know

Technically they're brilliant., but what you're doing is bringing them to human standards and, as smart as they are, they're stupider than a pigeon when compared to a vertebrate. What that means is, they are not capable of such complex thought. As far as I know, no other animals are.

If you watch any other cuttlefish diving videos, you will see that they are curious. A little cautious, but unless spooked, they will not ink.

  • @nightmarexbat u sound well spoken r u friends with bill w

  • @theothersituation I've never even heard of him, but after a quick google search, I'm guessing you're implying I used to be an alcoholic? In any case, I just like decent (if not good) grammar.

  • ok first of if you even read the description it said that it was the divers first time to ever see a a cuddlefish. so if you saw something like that just coming at you like that, of course your going to react. dont insult the diver or call him/her a coward just because he/she was trying to defend him/herself.

  • hahahahaahaaha i bet the cuttlefish got a big ego boost out of that!

  • It just wanted a hug!

  • that thing is soo cute, it just wanted to be cuttled and loved! but i think i would be freaked as well if a cute fish was chasing me :p lol

  • chill out man! probably it just wanted to cuddle. it's a cuddlefish after all! =w=

  • it looks like it was attracted by the light not attacking remember most animals/fish would rather avoid you than attack

    dory:"i-i see a light,conscience am i dead?

    lol i thought it fit

  • what a wussy

  • What... If someone on the street ran up to you and shouted "Hey, I know you!", you might be spooked - But you wouldn't claim to have been attacked exactly would you!

"Curious cuttlefish gets kicked by coward diver". A better, and more accurate title for this video.

  • aww good thing he didn't attack. I remember a story of a manwho got his finger bitten off by a pufferfish, I couldn't imagine a cuttlefish

  • a mouse will attack a man if the man backs away

  • don't look like an attack.

  • It wanted to CUTTLE. hahaha, I'mma dork.

  • Wild cuttlefish used ATTACK

    Is not very affective.

  • The cameraman should of told the cuttlefish that he wasn't filming dirty dancing 3.

  • yeah fish!! that was a HUMAN knee in whatever your equivalent of a face is!!

seriously tho, Cuttlefish scare me, lol

they always make me think of little "Cthulhu Babies"

  • wrf that is a tadpol? lmfao

  • yea i like this vid n u can also get cool diving stories on the myscuba story site. You can post your own too i think. Type myscubastory into google and click on the first one

  • I think cephalopod's are the scariest animals in the sea.

  • dont cuttle it then

  • do they hunt luminescent prey? I absolutely agree from frame .17 to the kick it seemed more interested in the light than a perfectly open diver to attack.

funny vid more curios than pissed me thinks

  • wow... my sisters can't handle house mice without losing half their body fluids. This would reduce them to sand.

  • Reminds me of our fishing trip, we were fishing off the edge of these rocks into the reef, after about an hour i got bored so i just dropped my rod really shallow in the reeds next to me and waited, i gave up watching after a few minutes and started talking with the others, after a while I decided to look back at my rod and this GIANT monster cuttlefish is looking up at me! Right next to me! Scared the crap out of me.

  • I may not be an expert on cuttlefishes. But I have seen Cuttlefishes hunt and attack preys. This was far from an attack as it would have used it long tentacles to grip on, stun and pull itself to the prey quickly. He was just curious on the flashlight, poor bastard.

  • "JUDO KICK!!"

"... I think you killed it..."

  • Oh for pete's sake - the cuttlefish thought those flippers were other cuttlefish. Give the poor fish a break!

  • @rj42103 They're pretty intelligent animals - I wouldn't imagine that they would get a divers fin and another cuttlefish confused - I was clearly after the torch - it showed similar interest in my torch first, unfortunately my buddy didn't turn hers off when I did

  • @dakuwanga I attrack them with certain noises. This was not at attack at all whatsoever, the tentacles are not raised in the attack-engaging mode, it was just curiosity on the part of the cuttlefish and hysteria on her part. Your buddy is too easily frightened, perhaps experience will make her better or she already increased her understanding of the underwater world.

  • @dakuwanga I've had the same experience with my torch and a cuttlefish, the light must attract/agitate them somehow.

  • thats what happens when you step on a cuttlefish's turf

  • could it have been going for the light in the diver's hand? you know, maybe just to play?

  • cute

  • cuttlefish thinking: hmmm probably some barnacles or parasites i can eat on that large fish..

scuba diver: GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!

  • i woulda speared it lol!

  • Just thought it was food, when cuttlefish are threatened they raise two of there tentacles above their head as a sign they're threatened. And yes you don't want to get involved with that beak!! Don't think it was aimed towards the diver, i'm quite surprised, this happened as they're a relatively intelligent species. Never seen this before, pretty cool though! Marine Bio and SCUBA Inst

  • @TheKlundge I've experienced this behaviour every year around April - I have posted another video 4 years later around the same time of year with another "agro" cuttlefish. I think this time of year co-incides with their breeding season.

  • ajjajajajaja

    jajajajajajajajjajaj

  • ajjajajajaja

  • for everyone calling the guy a pussy... everyone else here knows u would panic or freak out if a big cuttlefish were chasing u and got closer and closer to u.

  • @TheFalconProduction did he died?

  • @RebornMotherfunker not that im aware of.

  • @TheFalconProduction ok, thanks

  • Underwater kneestrike... This is an Asian woman.

  • u guys r dumb i bet u be scared if one came after u.

  • @joeschmojo the video description did mention that the diver being 'attacked' is a female...so technically she is a pussy haha

  • Wow! First time I have ever seen one have a go like this.

One of my absolute favorate animals (Mollucs)

    Point Lowly South Australia

The Giant Cuttlefish breeding ground is in extreme ongoing danger from being developed for minning, right at the site!

If you want to save this site it needs to be pushed hard to become a reserve.
