  • Make sure you wrap the valve really well with a cloth or jam wood inside the jaws. A stilson has serrated edges which really mess the valve up

  • No need for a dodgy rad wrench that looks like it does not do the job very well. Use a stilson wrench to hold the valve steady and use an adjustable spanner to undo the rad nut. Tension the rad nut in one direction while applying equal counter pressure with the stilson in the opposite direction to prevent damage to the pipe fitting.

  • Please do not attempt to carry out this procedure in the company of tradesmen as the inevitable fits of laughter are likely to be intense enough to cause some injury at the workplace.

  • This guy is a muppet and a liar. The radiator HAS NO WATER IN IT TI START WITH.

  • Ok, ok complete overkill if you have any experience with plumbing but may make someone feel a bit more confident.

The other thing to mention is that when shutting down the thermostat valve(TRV), you better make sure that the temp of the room doesn't drop below approx 5 degrees C with the rad off as it will open due to the frost protection setting. You should really unscrew stat and fit decorators cap to prevent valve opening.

  • You wanker the rad hasn't got any water in, try doing it with a rad full of water

  • Hi well done a nice informative video. I put my radiator back on the wall but have noticed a small leak from the nut that screws from the valve onto the radiator. When I removed it in the first place I noticed that there was some sort of sealing compound that had been used before ,so I presume that the plumber who fitted the radiator must have had a problem with it. All the joints were clean when I put it back on. What do you suggest?

    Thanks

  • @robertthejack Check out PTFE tape dude.

  • radclamps at £22.95 or

    15mm compression cap @ £0.47 each or

    3/4 flanged plug @ £1.47

    you do the maths!!!

Plus my spanner and grips work fine thanks. would like to see your union connection splitter undo rad valves with 50 year old appoxy resin on it.

  • Great tool. I wish I had the RAD wrench spanner the first time round as my chrome values are scratched to bits by my mole grips now lol if you haven’t got the spanner buy one to save your values lol

  • great kits

  • Good ideas, clearly explained without trying to turn it into rocket science Keep posting the vids !!..

  • I've posted some new viddies of street-corner busking musicians! Check em out everyone. This video is very exciting! I'm overwhelmed. It would be better with a very beautiful broad instead of him.

  • Got one of these kits a few years ago from Dulux decorators center. Video crap but kit GREAT, Saved me loads of time and effort decorating - dont think some ppl quite get the concept.

  • dont give up your day job mate! carpet fitter aren't you...what a load of crap. jet engine, telephone, computer, dyson, radiator clamp thing, the uk's great inventions

  • all made in China now great inventions

  • what a crock a sh1t

  • why did he rehang the rad full of water? just emty it outside, this job takes me about 2 mins usuali espesialy on 10m pipe why would any any one fart ass about like this

  • What a load of crap! another example of a nerd in a shed with too much time on his hands! can't think why i aint seen everyone with one of these kits... oh thats right, a couple of pairs of grips and a plastic tub work just fine ;)

  • yea that "rad holder" thing dont do much.... using some grips or footprints would do a better job lol

and 10 mil pipe on a heating system?

  • Hilarious - god I've seen some rubbish DIY products in my time.

If this chump turned up at my house waving his plastic spanner (which didn't hold the valve rigid), bits of black condom (to hold the non-existant water back) and then used drawing pins to fix thermal foil to my walls I'd throw him out!

  • i'd be a lot more impressedif the rad had water in it....plenty of work coming up for carpet fitters and plasterers i think
