  • Ouga Chakka....great!

  • I've never gotten sick of singing this song - always so easy to sign to and for some reason it makes me connect to it as it sounds like a native american beat, so that's even way cooler! And I prefer this song version over BJ Thomas for that reason... to each his/her own I guess!

  • it's i'll stay a victim

  • epic sex song

  • god dammit I can only picture flying david hasselhoff in my head -.-'

  • Heard both versions when they both came out, but GARY PUCKETT version MUCH better! Besides the caveman stuff, the chords arwe much better on the Puckett version! Wow! Never noticed how disperate the versions were before!

  • I miss the dancing baby!

  • anoint him

    anoint him

    anoint him

    anoint him

anoint him i can't stop this feeling

    anoint him

  • @Shaqify32 thats so awesome, i just saw that episode like 30 seconds ago, thats what made me look up this song

  • I remember when this was current and I'm still not tired of it. Great tune.

  • BJ Thomas is much bettta

  • Its 75 and I'm HIGH on believing!

  • 57 people are hooked on tween crap!

  • i'm hooked on this song

  • The OUGA CHAKA is annoying and almost, not quite, ruins the song. Still a good song though, would be better without that retarded part.

  • thumbs up if you stop listening to this song the second the ooga chakas stop!

  • "I'm high on believing that your in love with me.." and also marijuana, after all it is 1975

  • ogoa chaka!!

  • Mr. Pink dies as well ,listen closely after he exits the building and you will hear the gunshots my friend

  • @fritkinsteve ACTUALLY friend...Mr. Pink does survive. "According to Quentin Tarantino, Mr. Pink does in fact survive. You can verify this by increasing the volume of the background sounds: When Mr. Pink runs out of the building with the diamonds, police officers can be heard shouting at him to put his hands on the ground. Gunshots can be heard, then Mr. Pink shouts that he has been shot. You can then hear the officers talking to each other as Pink is arrested." -IMdB.com...nice try...'friend'

  • mr pink got the diamonds

  • if they were around for sing-off, they would kisck ass

  • 57 people must be offended by this version cause it sounds nothing like the original

  • I definitely agree that this song improves among BJ Thomas's version cause it's a much catchier song and it has more of a driving beat to it.

  • for some reason I hear this version on the radio more often than BJ Thomas's version although back in the old days I used to hear BJ Thomas's version a lot more often

  • Rape ape is stalking you on a tricycle to this song

  • Original Was great!! This one is my fav!!!

  • I used to think the background voices was "Hoogajagowhoogowhoogajagowhoogow"

  • I personally prefer this version over BJ Thomas's version, it's more upbeat and easier to sing along with

  • @Doobie1975 BJ Thomas is still the master.

  • I don't care what anybody says, I LOVE THIS SONG!

It's virtually impossible to hear it and not sing along.

  • this is the stupidest, funnest song!! and don't go tellin' me funnest aint a word.....ooga chakka........HELL YEAH

  • @lrd9999 what?

  • @mrzisawesome If you Google "Wilson Bryan Key" "who got sucked off" , you'll get the whole story. I'm not sure I believe it, but maybe I'm just not listening closely enough.

  • We were a blues, hard rock band. I always wanted to do a power pop rock song. But my bandmates were too cool for that. I love this song! Quirky, catchy, infectious. I love this off-the-wall song!

  • Ooga Chaka................ Gesundheit :)

  • IM HIGH with my dancing baby OOOOoooga CHAKA!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to love cranking up the volume of this song intro when I was a kid.

  • What's the better vocal tag line, the "Ouga Chakka's" here, or the "A weem-a-wacks" in the Tokens "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"?

  • @gnevolejr that is one of the hardest musical questions ever. Especially sine I love both songs!!!

  • @gnevolejr this easily

  • @gnevolejr such a hard decision

  • @gnevolejr It's 'Ouga Chaka' (1 k) and it's 'Wimoweh' not 'a-weem-a-wacks' for the Lion Sleeps Tonight. I Googled the lyrics to be sure.

  • @gnevolejr clearly ouga chakka

  • @gnevolejr

Try the "AA-UUUM-BOP-DIDDITS" on The Beach Boys's "This Whole World".

  • heard this today while driving. Brought back great memories.

  • i woke to this song on the radio this morning...now i have to replace my slideing glass door

  • Ouga Chaka or Gacha Gahwho?

  • This song is soooo weird. But undeniably memorable. As soon as I heard it on the radio I looked it up!!

  • kEEP IT UP GIRL, YOU TURN ME ON!

    (SORRY 'BOUT THAT LAST COMMENT)

  • kEEP IT UP GIRL, YOU GOT ME TURNED ON.

  • musta missed ally mcbeal

  • Needs more Cowbell.

  • @InvisibleGunslinger1 I gotta fever, and the only cure is more cowbell.

  • Lyrics: OOGA CHAKKY, OOGA OOGA, OOGA CHAKKA OOGA OOGA, OOGA CHAKKA OOGA OOGA, OOGA CHAKKA

    I can't stop this feeling

    Deep inside of me.

    Girl, you just don't realize

    What you do to me.

    When you hold me

    In your arms so tight,

    You let me know,

    Everythings alright, ahahah

  • Dammit.... this is so great.

Someone MUST have said, "WHAT THE ?..." and yet... too funny, and the best. ;-)

  • I first watched the video that the Hoff did. I'm so glad that I found this; for a minute, I thought his was the original and the song was much less appealing.

  • @spootboy123 Blue Swede was first formed in 1973. B.J. Thomas achieved mainstream success again in 1968, with the single "Hooked on a Feeling"

  • @sloppyjoe0238 watch?v=PJQVlVHsFF8

  • Love the "Ooga chaka ooga" lyric at the beginning. It sounds like the cavemen are singing in their first recorded choir in prehistory.

  • i was in the car with water in my mouth, I had to open my door and spit out my water because of the "OOOGA CHUKKA. Lmfaoooooo

  • Nah man, I wanna CHAKKA my OOGA.

  • all i can see is david hasselhoff flying through the air in the worst remake ever.

  • WHY CANT I GET THIS GIRL OUT OF MY HEAD! I cant stop thinking about her.

  • hmm interesting?

  • So fn inspired. No one has tried adding OOGA CHAKA to a song since. I thinks its time!

  • reservoir dogs

  • the ooga chaka totally has no place in this song, makes no sense.

  • @7070legend it was creepy

  • @7070legend,

Listen to some of the songs from the Doo-Wop era. Those non-sensible lyrics serve no purpose to the songs they appear in.

One very good example is "I only have eyes for you" by the Flamingoes.

The Ji-bop Ji-bop phrase has no purpose but it's still there.

Except that phrases like these DO serve a MUSICAL purpose even if they don't serve a STORYTELLING purpose.

  • I think I'm the only one in my class that knows this song exists. But I still like this this song

  • I grew up in the 90s. I listen to stuff like AC/DC and such.... I feel like I am one of the few people left who know good music like this even exists!

  • @CQCDeath Yes, because a one hit wonder pop band from the 70's is TOTALLY REAL!

  • @clonecomanderfox Actually Blue Swede did have another Top 10 hit song with "Never My Love" which was a cover version of The Association and their version of "Never My Love" sounds nothing like the original

  • my friends thought i was weird cuz i started singing this in class

  • I hear the "Ooga Chaka" part in my head when I wake up in the morning!!!

And I'm talking no drugs and no alcohol. Just feelin' good :o)

  • the lyrics are all wrong! can't a guy sing along to a song with the right lyrics!?

  • Middle school memories!

  • 51 people (August 3rd 2011) dislike this song because they can't understand the relevance that the OOGA CHAKKA part has to the entire song.

  • @r5t6y12 ....what relevance? It's a ridiculous sample to say the very least. Must've been on some bad acid.

  • i have an inexplicable urge to steal diamonds...

  • @aboutfalling1992 Is that from a movie?

  • @aboutfalling1992 ha ha ha ha ha !! classic comment LOL!!!!

  • @aboutfalling1992 u hooked on stealing

  • Wow. I'd heard that a lot of people took a lot of really bad drugs in the '70s. This sort of proves that to me.

  • @uppityhomo ....really? do you know what the nigger rap or white trash hip hop of today proves to me? what a tool!

  • blue suede are the very best with this.i was in the bondi hotel in sydney by the beach in aussie in 1975 with the most beautifull girl in the world, coulnt stop playing it..................ooga chaka

  • Believe it or not I remember listening to this song on the radio back in 1974. I was a little kid, and the chanting scared me the first time I heard it.

  • I want to sing this to a very special woman someday :)

  • This sounds like someone was playing Patapon for the intro.

  • Greatest Cock Block song for those necessary moments.

  • I think this is the ultimate stalker song, "I'm hooked on a feeling, I'm high on believing, that you're in love with me." LOVE it though!

  • this used to be my favorite songg!...wait, it still iss! haha

  • Whenever I hear this song, I imagine the band in a boiling pot surrounded by native African dancers.

  • Afterwards, the Sergeant says: "Not bad---but we need some top tenors." This always reminds me of the movie _Zulu,_ where the Zulus sing first.
