People say the 90's sucked, and maybe they did compared to the 70's and 80's. I have no idea, but they sure were much better than the 2000's. Maybe it was because we were younger, but everything was just so much more carefree and...nice. I miss it.
@nygiantsfan6 well said, I miss it too. I will just never forget the excitement of playing Mario 64 or Goldeneye for the first time in 97 and then Zelda OOT in 98. Classic.
this reminds of when the n64 was nearly just released and i was so excited and couldn't wait. WHy can't i feel like that now im older. WHy can't every year be like 1997 when i was 15
@fayik123 -Those were good years, but there are still more to come, i bet when you get your hands on 3DS for example you will still get as good stuff as ever!
anybody else remember this video on the front cover of the n64 magazine in uk? THere was also a few video clips after the promo vid of a few games. N64 was the best console ever made.
the caricatured japanese baseball looked pretty sweet. it may be america's game, but they'll never beat the east in digital design.
except for mahjjong (or however you spell it). riveting as what holds an outhouse together.
awesome: everything in this video. except as stated above. the sumo wrestling one could be fun, too. the narrator saying "shadows of the empire"=hilarious
lame: that yoshi title looked sweet--how come i've never seen it before? cancelled? japan only?
Brings me back to the days when the most advanced thing I had was a Super Nintendo, and videos like these were dropping my jaw. 1996 always makes me think of playing Tomb Raider and Super Mario 64.
ah this video definitely brings back memories. i still remember buying the first issue of n64 magazine on march 1997 and this video came free with it. when i saw the games i got very excited and i knew the n64 was gonna kick ass.
haha the good old n64 i remember getting blisters all over my hand from playing mario party and jet force gemini. soo many other games that i liked. but i sold it all for like a total of 50 bucks... now that i think of it... bad trade
Goldeneye 007 is in that clip and it still plays great 10 years on. I didnt grow so to speak with the N64(i was 13 and a half when they came out in the UK and I had been looking forward to it since 1995.)but have fond memories of it and still play it from time to time.
well thats coz mario kart came out like a month after that video was made and zelda was still 2 years away from release. so MK was the big game of the show that year.
its hard to believe graphics like this would have made someone crap their pants then

Imaginatively enough- 64 O-Sumo. was fairly well received I think, and had a weird rpg mode in it.

I only see N64 systems in second hand shops. Or at modest Mom & Pop computer repair shops.
Sometimes, you can find some at gamestop retail stores and the consoles come inside plastic bags, not even in the original boxes.
I have seen the famous Pikachu N64 console. That one must cost a fortune on Ebay. I'll get one next time I see it.

Bollocks, it's the 10th anniversary of the N64 today. If only I'd waited three more days this would have been vastly more appropriate.
