I'm mexican,and I know a little bit of english, but really, ive never understood Portishead lyrics... they are somewhat abstract.

@Dzeneth I don't believe it has to be about mother language (I'm also mexican) , I guess It's about feeling what the song's about, and though Gibbons' writing might be complex or at least not quite typical, I assume that you know what the song is about when you have lived the song :)
