You have to be within 11 levels for us to play. Once you get pass level 50 you can be 15 levels apart. The game doesn't have in game chat so I use Skype. Message me your PSN ID and Skype name and I will add you =D
They stay dead, so like with item sellers (which generally speaking, they all sell diffrent things) if you kill them you ownt be able to buy items or repair stuff. or they won't ocme and help you for some of the boss fights etc etc...
You can restart the whole game or you can complete the game, at which point you can do the whole game again but as a "Round 2" where enemies are stronger (I think by about 50%?) , and all NPC would come back alive.
im 3 bosses into dark souls (2% game completion) and it is AWESOME. You would think it royally pisses you off, but it doesnt, you just learn you suck and you need to get better

@ctrain911 The Dragon God in Stonefang Tunnel (2-3) and you need pure white world tendency. When you enter the boss zone, take a turn to the left and you will see it in the ground. It will take a few seconds to pull it out so make sure you do it before the Dragon God falcon punches you otherwise it's gone for good until next playthrough.
@ctrain911 Pure White World Tendency in the World 2. Once you kill a Dragon God boss because of the tendency the area behind bars unlocks (left once you enter the area - where originally the small lizard went/hide). The sword is called Drogn Bone Smasher (smth like this).
hope it helps. (on a side note if you want to have control over World Tendencies dont sign into PSN, as every session you play the server adjusts your tendency according to everyones average).
You know, there is more to Demon's Souls's story than what's in the intro. You just have to find it for yourself. You're not spoonfed it, just like you're not spoonfed anything in the game.
Forget John Romero, Demon's Souls will make you it's Bitch.
I recommend reading some guides online before you start, trust me it won't ruin the game, no amount of help could make this game easy.
Also, on the first level, in an obvious place, there is an item called "The Cling Ring" that will give you 75% of your health in soul form. Which is what you want to stay in most of the time anyway as you cannot be invaded by another player while you are in Soul form (Unless you love pvp of course.)
@Chaoticbravo use the purple big shield from world 1-1 were the dragons are chilling use either light armor to move around and evade him quickly or use heavy armor to resist more damage also use water vial (or whatever it's called) while the purple shield should be enough it should give you some protection just in case also try to beat level 4-2 and use the boss' soul to gain second chance which revives you the moment you die with half your health. hopefully this helps =)
Just got to play the demo of Dark Souls at HYPER JAPAN event in London, you have to do a review of that game when it comes out Ed, it's even more unforgiving than Demon's Souls... my heart is about to break
ok Gedacrew shut up i played this game 3 times. with one caricter. i liked how hard it was. the maps were epic. though and open world would be nice. but the depressing world was awesome. how many people play world of warcraft. i mean that place is rotting and only being cept together buy a tree. this game is awesome and everything about it was good
The games environment is too heavy and depressing for it to be worth a second or third playthrough, perhaps that could be fixed with a more open environment, instead of these linear maps. And the level system is ridicoulus, i mean why would i want to spend 100 hours on leveling up when there is no point. If there was a point, like the Weapon bosses in FFVII, where you have to level up in order to beat them, maybe i would have reconsidered. But hey, maybe that's just me.
Demon's Souls didn't get its extremely dedicated following by being "too heavy and depressing." Most fans of Demon's Souls have beaten it up through New Game+++ or played multiple New Games. And the level system isn't ridiculous. You need to level up certain stats to use certain gear and every Soul Level gained can mean the difference between life and death. The thing is, you need leveling AND skill.
You probably quit or rode on the coattails of Blue Phantoms. -.-
Dude, you're reviews are spot on! After playing Demon's Souls, the only other comment I would add that the target lock-on doesn't always seem have enough range for characters that use ranged attacks. You're Assassin's Creed review was perfect, I wish I could return that dumb game... Maybe I'll find a sucker who will trade something better for it.
To any Zelda fans reading this.. I have to say, you know when youre half way through a dungeon in zelda, youve saved, your safe. Skip to next day when your at the mediocrity of your job.. though you dont say it to anyone, your thinking about and planning your next move on that particular boss, or difficult segment in zelda? well this game is exactly the same! I think about the bastard all day.. Demons Souls is a fantastic nod to zelda and is gaming Brilliance incarnate!!!

Okay. You want to know what's, at times, broken hard. Uncharted 1. Yes, that's right. 2 is one of my all time favorite games, but I have NEVER had to switch to "easy" in my life until Uncharted. So many cheap one hist kills, enemies, some of whome take 15 plus shots to kill, spawning from all sides, rushing around your cover at the expense of their own lives just to shoot you square in the face. NLF quarterback accuracy with grenades, no help from AI allies... But the story is so good lol!
Great review! I haven't played this in like a year now, but you're really tempting me to get back to it. Not a lot of games can make me feel nostalgic after just one year of not seeing them, but just listening to some of the sound effects from the clips made me miss the good times! I think you should look forward to The Witcher 2 as well by the way, the combat is somewhat inspired by Demon's Souls and some testers have criticized it for being too hard. I think I like I what I'm hearing!
The pvp in this game is awesome. Sure some weapons clearly has a tremendous advantage over other and sometimes there is lag, but I love that it requires knowledge of the oponents weapon, forcing you to come up with strategies.

ok Gedacrew shut up i played this game 3 times. with one caricter. i liked how hard it was. the maps were epic. though and open world would be nice. but the depressing world was awesome. how many people play world of warcraft. i mean that place is rotting and only being cept together buy a tree. this game is awesome and everything about it was good

The games environment is too heavy and depressing for it to be worth a second or third playthrough, perhaps that could be fixed with a more open environment, instead of these linear maps. And the level system is ridicoulus, i mean why would i want to spend 100 hours on leveling up when there is no point. If there was a point, like the Weapon bosses in FFVII, where you have to level up in order to beat them, maybe i would have reconsidered. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Demon's Souls didn't get its extremely dedicated following by being "too heavy and depressing." Most fans of Demon's Souls have beaten it up through New Game+++ or played multiple New Games. And the level system isn't ridiculous. You need to level up certain stats to use certain gear and every Soul Level gained can mean the difference between life and death. The thing is, you need leveling AND skill.
You probably quit or rode on the coattails of Blue Phantoms. -.-

Dude, you're reviews are spot on! After playing Demon's Souls, the only other comment I would add that the target lock-on doesn't always seem have enough range for characters that use ranged attacks. You're Assassin's Creed review was perfect, I wish I could return that dumb game... Maybe I'll find a sucker who will trade something better for it.

To any Zelda fans reading this.. I have to say, you know when youre half way through a dungeon in zelda, youve saved, your safe. Skip to next day when your at the mediocrity of your job.. though you dont say it to anyone, your thinking about and planning your next move on that particular boss, or difficult segment in zelda? well this game is exactly the same! I think about the bastard all day.. Demons Souls is a fantastic nod to zelda and is gaming Brilliance incarnate!!!

Best game of this generation! Heck its one of my best games of all time contenders! If you haven't played this game AND have a Ps3 you are a bad, BAD person!
And God help you (not that it will matter) if you don't buy Dark Souls given that its a multiplat game!!!

Okay. You want to know what's, at times, broken hard. Uncharted 1. Yes, that's right. 2 is one of my all time favorite games, but I have NEVER had to switch to "easy" in my life until Uncharted. So many cheap one hist kills, enemies, some of whome take 15 plus shots to kill, spawning from all sides, rushing around your cover at the expense of their own lives just to shoot you square in the face. NLF quarterback accuracy with grenades, no help from AI allies... But the story is so good lol!

Great review! I haven't played this in like a year now, but you're really tempting me to get back to it. Not a lot of games can make me feel nostalgic after just one year of not seeing them, but just listening to some of the sound effects from the clips made me miss the good times! I think you should look forward to The Witcher 2 as well by the way, the combat is somewhat inspired by Demon's Souls and some testers have criticized it for being too hard. I think I like I what I'm hearing!

The pvp in this game is awesome. Sure some weapons clearly has a tremendous advantage over other and sometimes there is lag, but I love that it requires knowledge of the oponents weapon, forcing you to come up with strategies.
