I followed the video, but when I try to save it in notepad, it gives me an access denied. I'm an administrator on a windows 7 laptop.

great, but.... why like 6 minutes? why can't you just record yourself doing it, instead of typing at snail pace and keep correcting mistakes? not to say im not grateful, but it just seems like a needlessly long way of doing something that could easily fit into a minute.

Dood, I did everything step by step, and when I open the game, the cheat console appears.

The problem is, that when I enter a cheat such as "addintelligence100" it appears "Function not found" and so with all cheat so I can not use any...

In that folder is the swkotor.ini file. Edit that file, and it should work.

ok so i downloaded it from steam and found the folder but it does not come up with 'compatability files'

If so, then the folder you downloaded the game into from Steam should contain the config file. KotOR calls all user GUI preferences for when the game loads, so it should be in there. If not let me know and I'll figure it out.

Yea, i removed it and reinstalled the game and it no longer shows for me either. Why? I can't figure it out. But rest assured I'll get to work on getting the files to work.

depends what kotor you are playing, if it is two, then when you press the key for entering cheats, it's not visible. google up kotor cheats and look for the gamespot page, that has a giant list, also there are a list of mods you can do to the game to get extra features. what style keyboard are you using, maybe i could figure out your tilde key problem

I downloaded Kotor through steam so there is no compatability file in which to put enablecheats=1

so what should I do?

Look in your PC for the game, probably in the directory as steam would be. Look for the file swkotor.ini. That's the file you are editing.

Let's see here, when you bought the game, then you had to download it to install it. When you did that, it downloaded to a directory somewhere on your computer. If you cannot find it, in the Windows Explorer, search up the file swkotor.ini <---The file you will be editing.

@Pariah156 Sigh... it doesnt matter anymore.... i finaly found it, when i went to play it stops working either on costom screen, id have to reset computer, or 5 minutes in play, i uninstaled, reinstaled.... the disk is purfectly unscrstched, so it must just hate my computer... ive checked it out, my computer has a lot of space, and such. /sigh...

ok here is a tip for you. do a complete uninstall. Once done with that, click start, on the sidebar where it says COmputer, right click that, click manage. When the prompt comes up to allow or deny, click allow. When the screen comes up, look under the tab called "Storage" then click on Disk Managment. After that, look at the disks on your HDD(Hard drive). You should have one for default C:\ drive, the bootable, and primary partition.

My computer came with an extra partition, asside from the recovery partition.

To make a partition like the one i have, right click on the C:\ partition, and click shrink.

Follow the Wizard on shrinking it. Depending on how much disk space you have left, only shrink what u need. If you have enough space to take 30GB off your C:\ partition, do so. After you have done that, right click the new unused space, and click new partition. asign it a drive letter. eg H:\. Make it an NTFS.

Create it, then you have a new partition drive. Install KOTOR again, this time use the advanced custom install, set the install location to that of the partition you just created. There you go.

hey man, ok when you do that, cut and paste it onto your desktop first. then type and save it. then just cut and paste back into the kotor directory, then you should be good to go man.

i see you got it to work. when you type a cheat for a gun or saber, yes you must use give. to aid you in this i looked up the cheats myself. I'll post it for you.

hey man, thanks for the comment, and look in the directory you saved your game in.

for example mine is under C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic\saves you chould have something in there like AUTOSAVE folder and 000001 - Game1 folder. the numbers are just the number of saves you have in the game. If it is empty look under this directory: C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Virtual­Store\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic\saves.

C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local\Virtual­Store\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Now this will only work if u used Automatic Install. But just look for swkotor.ini with that path, if you do not find it let me know.
