Let me add a caveat - after the early 80s, Arabs, along with the rest of the world, lost all sense of good taste in electric guitars and keyboards. These older recordings, especially the Oum, are light years away from the crap being made today.
I love the electric guitar. Egyptians (and Lebanese) have always had good taste in electric guitars, and electric keyboards. Microtonal keyboard even!
