Turn solar impulse into a non-piloted drone?
It could just hang in the sky for long time just like a satellite, but much closer to the ground.

@visnevskiscom A satellite is actually continually falling along the curvature of the earth, it doesn't "hang in the sky".

@PJCelis Thanks for clarification. What I meant is - as it falls for years (speculating here - I have no idea for how long it actually takes) it's virtually just hanging there from viewpoint of average person.
