@jforjustin001 I believe that in the original play the character "Tobi" was actually an mentally retarded adult male who has the mind of a child. But you're right, in the American version of the movie Tobi is an actual child. I think having a child play Tobi rather than an adult was a decision the directors made so they wouldn't have to deal with the issue of mental retardation. I'm only guessing, but I'm assuming perhaps they thought audiences wouldn't be as comfortable with that.
Dang! His voice is splendid. It's much better than I thought it would be when I first opened the video. He has an amazing clear resonance to his voice.
Is she really? To me it sounds the music is shaped in such a way that it'll make whatever she sings sound insincere... Because right after this, Mrs. Lovett does shut Toby in the bakehouse to die.
you could say it that way OR that flat is also known as a minor cord and minor is used for all those sad pieces like minuet in b minor (which sounds very cynical) so yeah..or probably she had a hard time singing (which is evident in the video)
Just letting you know, the original Toby (you know, in the original cast) was quite grown up when he sang the part, and he sounded amazing. I really like this version.
His voice...sent shivers up my spine! I really like it, and his voice his perfect, almost flawless! Though I prefer having a young boy sing this part, he would have my second pick for sure. Well done!
I had my doubts, But Sweeny todd is just as stunning and moving in korean

Isn't Toby supposed to be a young boy?! Like, in the English movie he almost sounds like a girl.

@sexypancake1
I think he was a child, but was played by adults in the original musicals. But that was a movie so they could use a child.

you expect it not to work, but it does. The Korean green finch and linnet bird is the best one I've heard.
