@pinkdreamer1000 Well It depends! the brand that I am using right now is organic nails, and the basic stuff to start with could go around $300 maybe $400
can you use the gel protection method on a fake finger? Every time i make a nail on the finger i have to cut it short and then pry it off and it does damage to it every time, so if you have a solution, that would be awesome!!!
@hypergaly Hi about them putting white over white i dont know cause its unecessary, but the surface of the nail must be lightly preped so the acrylic adheres better....
@hypergaly Hi, people do this just because they feel the design looks better this way, although you could just apply clear acrylic to keep the thickness of the nail fairly constant. :] x
Love the video. If you could please tell me the name & artist of this song because I want it from iTunes. Will be subbing because I am so a beginner!!!
What is the gel protection that you used to get the nail to pop off? and how exactly does it pop off please. thank you. You do awesome nails definitely a fan
@queenbrih Well i just used a thin layer of the cheapest gel i could find and without preppin the nail in any way when you work the acrylic on top of it it just comes off...
Nice application! So, if you don't use a primer, what do you use? Just the dehydrator? I know it's not good for you, but I do use an acid-free primer.
@BeautybyJen Oh noooo never! the SuperBond Nail primer is before the acrylic application a very very little amount on the surface of the nail, in the glass bowl i have Liquid acrylic (monomer). And i dont use primers any more! They are bad. 2) No the smell doesnt bother me at all, I like it.. lol The kiss acrylic kits are TERRIBLE quality you and everyone should never use them, sadly a lot of people do for how "convinient and economic" they are, but they suck!!!!
Fantastic! That is exactly what I was wondering! Just two further questions: a)when one applies white nail tips, then do you apply white acrylic bead to the free edge or clear or what? I noticed you used a transparent-colored acrylic beadover the white nail tip...or it seems? and b) how long/short should your client's natural nails be before tip application? (I thought short but saw a vid of sum1 applying a nailtip on a nail w/ a bit of a free edge...confused me?) Thank you SO much again!
@NailArt5 Q1: its all clear, its not necesarry to apply white over a white tip, thats putting more work on whats already done for you.
Q2: Its best if you have a little free edge cause you can see the sides of it and take advantage to get it paralell avoiding them to look wide or too narroow that you can se natural nail on the sides when it grows... It has to fit perfectly fom side o side but if not you have to play around with the well of the tip... not placing it too deep or out of
@NailArt5 the clients nails can be short or the free edge can be a little bit long if its too long theres no piont in using a tip if the nail was long you could just put acrylic on the actual nail
lovely flower nail art! As a beginner, I have a question, tho- how come you didn't blend the nail tip after you applied it, and before the acrylic bead application? I thought the nail tips must always be blended with the natural nail before applying acrylic beads? Please clarify? thank you!
@NailArt5 Sure! You never EVER blend white tips or the will loose the smile line and look bad! you blend ONLY natural tips, not even clear tips, and when you DO blend them you have to be EXTREMLY carefull of not damaging the natural nails.... Hope it helps =D
@luisbalma actually you do blend clear tips just a bit so you dont have to file so much of the natural nail wen the clear tip is on the nail you blend every kind of tip except white ones those you buff to get the shine off so the acrylic will stick better my nail technician teacher taught me that
@01Avrilgirl It is a choice if you want to blend clear tips or not, as you know they are clear, what ever powder you use if you have quality product they will NEVER show, and also if you are using quality Clear tips, It is necessary to remove shine on some tips it depend on the brand of course and the quality of the products as I said, some you dont have too... I am a nail tech and nail teacher too so i know what am saying for fact, hope it helps...
@FashionistaLuvsNY No, but it can make them look like! if you have a short nail that is not straight it will grow like that, but if you are happy with the shape of them when short and then you apply acrylic to them they will stay somewhat within that shape and its going to be hard for them to twist in other directions because of how hard the acrylic is...
What I would like to see is a monomer/acrylic ratio tutorial since I've only seen one so far. Also, I noticed that you did not buff the artificial tip. Do you not think that this is necessary? Thanks for the video!
please dont laugh... but what if u got the acrylic stuff like on to the cuticle area? should i just start over? should i file on that small are? use nail polish remover ? HELP!
@morbidinside091 well the best is if you dont! but in case you do you have two options, remove the acrylic safely!!! or try pushing back a little the cuticle area and file until smooth and wait for it to lift and you can then remove all the lifting. but it is best if you dont get it in there!
your tutorial helped me out ALOT . thank you for posting this . i would just like to know what you do with the acrylic before you actully use it on the nail ? do i add acetone in it to make it that texture ? and i dont have that machine to shape the nail is there an alternative i can use ?
@sacstella23 Im glad it did! Well you dont do anything to the acrylic, you add acetone only if you are doing 3D to get a more proper consistency, the alternative for hand filing is the drill so... you have to handfile if you dont own a drill! and for the acrylic bead is just learning proper mix ratio! if you hold a lot of liquid in the brush the bead will be bigger than holding less liquid... first practice beads on a practice nail until you get the right one to work!
I just have a question...first and foremost you did a wonderful job...second the question.. y didn't you add an apex at the stress point? sorry I go to nail school in Tulsa and I've learned a lot lol and was just curious
@87kwinkler you build a little more thick the stress areas so you avoid the nail breaking there and causing damage it is necessary also for the natural shape! you go smooth on the cuticle going to a high point in the middle and going down to the tip a little again! thanks!! =)
Luis, I'm so glad that I found you on YouTube! Tus videos me inspiran para mejorar y superarme cada dia mas, gracias. Me da mucho gusto saber que eres Hispano. Y super talentoso!! @marluhh Well its clear acrylic mixed with opal shimer! I did it! but you can also purchase this premixed! I know that on wwwboldntrendycom you can buy it!
@kittysfilms Well I dind get the idea of what you're asking but the glue is really good and drys really super fast and I guess it stays on a pretty long time! I usually get the nail to the point where there is no tip anymore!
OMG!! i love your technique!! I just subscribed... now i have a question do you use a protein bond at all like after dehydrator or primer? before you start with the acrylic?
i was wondering where do you buy your tips from ? cause i always get them on ebay but there not as long as the ones you use & i can never find them :(
@IcedLipGloss Well i somewhat agree with her its best to wait for you to be older so you do it when your not growing any more! its bad when people start at such an early age cause you can make your nails stronger now instead of making them weaker! But there is a infinity of things you can get done with nail polish and that are reallly cool!!! =)
@luisbalma true...but my nails are short and they dont loo that good with simply nail polish on them...she doesnt want me to get tips either, so i really dont know what to do...i hate the sight of my nails, they look horrible.
@IcedLipGloss Well you could try sculpted nails! no need for tips! Or get her involved in the process make her get nails too! show her short nail options first and take it from there!
this is def not the correct way, you put the glue on the finger not the fake nail this is how they teach u at like paul mitchell , how the white ppl do it it'll take u atleast 3hrs to do a full set lol
@historysky I apologize but THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY! And you never apply the glue onto the natural nail! the glue would run through the finger and eventually lift from the sides of the tip! while putting the glue on the tip you create pressure by applying it and provides better adhision! search for info about it and you will see!!! BTW thanks so much for commenting and hope you enjoyed!!! =)
@historysky still you get residues! that will eventually make the nail lift from the tip! besides there is no difference in the way you glue the nail! it the same process! If it works for you great! but for me works better putting it in the tip! =) Enjoy
The main reason I asked was because you said you do it on your clients. I thought you had to be a nail tech in order to be able to do it on other people for like a job. I am looking into being a nail tech. I'm sorry I said "don't be all snappy with me." With the exclamations it seemed kind of like you was. Sorry. : )
@TwistandBraid Yes I do have clients! They keep me away from going to get my certificate! LOL! No worries with the snappy thing! I'm always interested in what people have to said or discusse with me! @luisbalma i thought you had to be a licensed nail tech to work on other people? I am going to subscribe for sure. could you do me a favor and check out at least one of my videos and tell me what you think. I would deeply appreciate.
@TwistandBraid I'm not snappy! the thing is that when people ask is because usually the have a doubt behind the first Q! So thats why I put why? U see! =D And it is the correct acrylic nail aplication! it has a step by step instruction! So if ur intersted u r more than welcome to follow me! there is many people with Their correct aplication! For me thats what i mostly work on my clients and its fantastic because of the result i see within days! I've done it for +2years! Enjoy =)
Nice work, and good tips as well. I have learned not to put the acrylic close to the cutucle, but when I'm nervous I end up doing that anyway lol. It great that I was able to see how u put the acrylic without touching the cuticle. Thanks again!!!
great job luis.. im glad u do what i do and never take the product right down to the cuticle .. prob one of the best tips u can give to somebody starting out.. take care and keep in touch x
You made this look so easy and the end result was great!! what base did you use so nail could pop off after? can you use this now as temp nail for special occasions? Thankyou so much for yor tutorial , I love your work!!
@CooksAndLooks I just didn't prep my natural nail and put a layer of gel thick enough so i could just "act" like i was preping a nail and then work with the acrylic! Dont know if it would work for a special occasion cause you can tell when it start lifting but if you would wanna try give it a go with a really short ones so you dont give them that mucha manipulation!
How much does it cost for all the products? -3

Nice work, and good tips as well. I have learned not to put the acrylic close to the cutucle, but when I'm nervous I end up doing that anyway lol. It great that I was able to see how u put the acrylic without touching the cuticle. Thanks again!!!

You made this look so easy and the end result was great!! what base did you use so nail could pop off after? can you use this now as temp nail for special occasions? Thankyou so much for yor tutorial , I love your work!!
CooksAndLooks 1 year ago
@CooksAndLooks I just didn't prep my natural nail and put a layer of gel thick enough so i could just "act" like i was preping a nail and then work with the acrylic! Dont know if it would work for a special occasion cause you can tell when it start lifting but if you would wanna try give it a go with a really short ones so you dont give them that mucha manipulation!
