And before anybody jumps about the oscar I profess a dilemma cos rarely have two films of such brilliance been pitted together . Shakespeare in Love and Saving Private Ryan.........somehow by awarding Steven Spielberg the best director the academy acknowledged the problem ...for once they got it right !

Shakespeare In Love is a film so rare, where the performances match the writing held together by John Madden and the icing on the cake is the exquisite soundtrack by Stephen Warbeck which is the glue that seals it all. I can watch it endlessly.

This is one of the most beautiful films ever made. Brilliant script by Tom Stoppard and everyone connected with its production were superb! Including this haunting music by Stephen Warbeck that somehow seems to give flight to the Shakespearian soul!

But this film took home the prize I believe, because they got EVERYTHING RIGHT....down to the smaller cast parts, every cast member was PERFECT for their part.no matter how small the part, it was all perfection.amazing.
